Day 1 almost over.

Hang tough Penguin it gets better sooner than you think. Just get through the first 3 days. After that its still a challenge but you will feel you have the control you need to make it further 1 day at a time. Remember you are doing this for yourself and no one else . Best of luck post hard and often . ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 44 Amount Saved: $19.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 12 Mins: 16 Seconds: 17

New quit for me

Hi people Tommorow I start anew with this quitting smoking I have found it to be difficult and discouraging this time around However I feel with the support of my family and co-wokers I can make it this time. I've been at a few a day for a while now and been feeling lousy. So tomorrow I throw caution to the wind and put my nose to the grind stone and just flat out quit. I did the same last year and have decided that this time it is for good. Wish me compassion and perseverance in my quest. :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Quitting today as of noon

Hey all I slipped today and smoked a few cigarettes and realized how lousy they made me feel. I fail to understand why I used to enjoy smoking. They are gone again I destroyed them. I started after lunch while I was running a bunch of errands this is when I used to smoke the most. I got a headache and for some reason figured having a smoke would help to allieviate it. Wellbutrin worked for me last year so I have a Doctors appointment for tomorrow at 9. When I hope to convince him to put me on this again. Has anyone else tried this aid and if so what results did you experience. It seems to be the mood swings that are holding me back. :confuse: PS I reset my meter I feel weak and ashamed of the fact that I'm having such difficulty with this. welbutrin and head aches

Thanks for the info folks. My adiction specialist and I had a meeting the other day. His advise was as obvious to me as the smile on his face if you want to quit smoking, QUIT SMOKING!!!! you will experience head aches and other withdrawal symptoms but if you smoke a cigarette to stop the headache you break the quit pattern and just keep quitting and quitting. He said take whatever you need to not smoke but be sure not to smoke. So after the obvious had been explained to me I finally surrendered to the fact that I am addicted to nicotine and cannot ever inhale chew or touch this product without having harmful results. So today nicotine is leaving my body leaving me sore all over. And after a few days the constant struggle will diminish and I will feel well again. PS the headaches have subsided considerably, and he said to take anacin when they reappear. I'm back to working out starting tomorrow and the Senators lost the game, but we had a great time in our booth thanks to the senators executive sales staff. Free food and drink always make the loss a little more bearable off to bed early day tomorrow. Thanks again for the support and looking forward to reading your responses to this post in the am. Dennis :) ;p

Bad thing about being an ex smoker

You are definitley not alone it happens to more people than you can imagine. Changing something thats been with you most of your adult life is bound to require some retraining of the neuro systems of the brain. Wellbutrin also seems to be doing that with me time to ween off and get back to normal :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 209 Amount Saved: $126.75 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 10 Mins: 27 Seconds: 48

How to deal with the rage? It can get me in some real trouble.

Great post Martha. I've been at this quit for a long time now almost a year and been through the ringer more than once. Lately the anger has been conming out and I think its time to go back to my specialist in addictions who seemed to be able to make it all make sense and instill a little clam and confidence to my shaken ego. Your post has reminded me that there is a solution to my outburst and my wife and I both thank you for being thoughtful enough to post this quote. Any other thoughts would be muchly appreciated. Yours in being smoke free. Dennis :)

Challenge Yourself!

I find overgeneralization to be a large factor for me since I quit people don't seem to understand the trials of quitting however they also don't get to experience the satisfaction of acheiving such a challenge. I guess its best to put the positive in front of me and do my best to run my shop the way I see fit. Being negative is probably a side effect of quitting I hope it passes with time. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 361 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,610 Amount Saved: $974.70 Life Gained: Days: 66 Hrs: 4 Mins: 21 Seconds: 15
