Hands are tingling

I just wonder why do I have hands tingling (and sometimes face) when experiencing a panic attack? I've never heard anyone else having such symptoms. OK, I can understand that everybody is different, but still..why do I experience such unpleasant symptoms and what do they mean? When reading about panic symptoms I do not find hands tingling. Am I an exception, something outstanding? lol Your answers will be appreciated. Thanks. Have a nice day! ;p

Tingly Fingers

Yes....., for the first time I see there are other people who have the same feeling. Sometimes I have tingly fingers but the most unpleasant tingling is when I have a panic attack...then I have tingly arms and sometimes even face. At the beginning I thought I am having a stroke but now I understad it's a part of anxiety and panic. I have learned to control it (I expose myself to this feeling and tell myself that if a panic attack and tingling want to kill me, they are welcome to do that...and then panic gradually stops). Is it neuroses? I also have to fly in two weeks time and I'm thinking of I am going to cope with it.

Tingly Fingers

A very silly question..I know the answer but I want to ask it again (don't know why it is so- I am mad on myself)- can I die because of tingly arms caused by a panic attack? :( :( :(

Hyperventilation and tingling

Reading through this forum, I noticed some posts on tingling. (Tingly arms is my worst dread, I am not so afraid of heart palpilation, hyperventilation, trembling etc. as I am afraid of tingling and numbness. It comes from the past- once I was so drunk that the next day I experienced tingly body and a slight paralysis in a car. My boyfriend called ambulance and they said it was because of alcohol. I felt that I was going to die, really weak and desperate. From that day I my panic attacks started. I learned to be afraid of tingling, closed places and being far away from "safe" places). I've read in the forum that tingling is connected with hyperventilation. What does it mean? Does tingling start when I have forced beathing and can I stop my arms to tingle when I start to breath as my psychoterapists has tought me?

Disbelief

Just wanted to ask- Why is it so that I know that symptoms I experience during a panic attack CAN NOT kill me but I somehow don't believe it? What should I do to believe that they are NOT dangerous? They are so unpleasant, I'm feeling like I am going to die. Sometimes I want to kill and do something bad to myself ... why am I pretending I don't believe any positive things??? I feel like I always support negative things. If it is a negative thing, I somehow perceive it, if it is a positive thing, I refuse it. But why? Want to change myself to a normal person!!!

Disbelief

Thanks, Diva for your friendly advice :). Actually, I've moved further than 1-3 lessons but it is a good advice to go through them again and again until I learn myself to think in a different way. Negative thing is that I do not have much free time (working all the day), free are just some evenings and I spend them with my boyfriend.
