One month without a single cigarette. WHOO HOO! Great support from my family as well for making this milestone in my life. It feels so great in becoming free from this addition.
My wife took me out to a wonderful Italian restaurant for dinner. I was able to enjoy it so much more now that I wasn't consumed with when I could have another smoke, LOL.
Hi Timbo, thank you!! Yesterday I also moved to the second step of the nicotine patch dropping to a lower level of nicotine. I have to admit I was rather apprehensive about making the move but the day went pretty much without a hitch. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised and was expecting the worse. So glad to be a non smoker. Again a big thank you for everyone's support.
Congrats on the quit! I know how you feel, I have been a very long time smoker 30+ years and I will be the first to admit there are some days I just miss it. But when it comes right down to it I miss it because it became a habit after all that time along with of course the addiction to nicotine. I have found this a great place to share and I am sure you will to. Hang in there, be strong, and remember you can do this.
Congratulations!!!Doesn't it feel great to be smoke free for over a month now. YOU have to be so proud of yourself for making such a great milestone. Keep on quitting, your doing great!!
No doubt this is quite the roll coaster ride that I never quite expected. I can go for days at a time and feel like I have this addiction beat and under control and then wham out of the blue I get hit with overwhelming feelings of I could use just one smoke, how could that possible hurt me. I remind myself that no matter how rough things get a smoke is not going to solve anything. It was just a crutch that I used and had convinced myself that somehow it was helping me when it actually was harming me instead. I also tell myself why undo all this hard work after 40 days, this will pass just like all the other cravings did. You are doing fantastic, keep up the good work. You made it through the toughest week.
Congratulations on 5 days!! Keep up the good fight. SSC is a great place to source information shared by others about quitting. Feel free to vent as well about your quit as we are all facing the same battle and are here to lean on one another for support. Don't forget to keep us updated on your progress.
