Tips to keep your quit going....

I have found that keeping as busy as I can has helped keep my mind off of them.   By keeping someone at the house with me is really good also.  I did try to reach for one in my rope when I was taking the dog outside, but other then that one time I didn't even think of them at all.  I know 2 days down, but besides from the constant need to chew, I feel pretty good about this so far!

Day 3...

Okay I am on Day 3 today and I am feeling pretty good about this!  No major cravings yet, just eatting to much candy.  I haven't really even thought about smoking much at all. I have been spending my breaks at work running around the office gossiping, and my nights at home cleaning and having people over to keep me busy.    My nights are the worst part of the day.  Also, talking on the phone outside is hard because I normally am smoking.  I walked into my corner store by work and everyone was happy and shocked that i didn't buy any cigs or scratch-offs this morning.   I used to spend more on scratch-off then I did on smoking.  I figured I would use the scratch-offs as a reward.  There is a new $2 dollar one I want to try my luck on, but I must wait for my first week is done.

Day 3...

Thanks Y'all.  All of y'alls encouragement has been VERY helpful!   I have been meaning to get my car cleaned, but I need to get my house cleaned first. I hate living in a house that is nasty.  ER took up my night last night and is taking up my morning reading everyone's thoughts on the final show.  I may go and start cleaning the car out at lunch, or just pull it in the back yard tonight and start the process of getting everything out and cleaning it.  I already started washing everything making sure that the smell isn't in any of my clothes or jackets.   I didn't smoke in the house so that is a BIG help on this.  Next week is time to get the yard cleaned and get all those cig. butts out of my yard!! so then the entire house and yard will be ready for the return of my little man..  Hopefully my sister as a roommate soon also.

Almost through hell week

I am feeling pretty tired myself.  I am normally alway tired but it does seem that it's worst today then it normally is.  If my boss was going to be at work today I don't think I would have gotten out of bed.  At least tomorrow is Saturday and a good day that you can sleep in.  I know I am looking forward to it! Since this sat. and sun. are my only times to sleep in till after memorial weekend.  How great does it feel having a week under your belt with out having to deal with that nasty habit?  I know I was driving to work this morning and I could actually smell how clean my shirt was.  I don't remember when the last time I put a shirt on and could smell how clean it was hours after I put it on.

New here and so glad to find ya'll!

Howdy!

Henny Penny has some great advice!  I am almost through day 3 so so far so good. I started to hate the taste of cigs before I even quit and that has helped me a lot.   I did stop cold turkey, but there are some here who used the patches and are doing great!  I just found keeping myself busy has helped me A LOT!!  There will be more coming along with some great advice to help you!  If you ever feel the urdge to smoke I am on here all day while I am at work M-F 8-5 CST (see what I get to do at work, NOTHING!)

The Best of Wishes to you!  You can make it past this nasty habit no matter how long the habit as been around!
