And The Day is Today for many!

Good Morning Y'all!  Today is my day to finally stop smoking. No morning cig on the drive to work so I am going good so far, just got to get through the breaks.  I have my (ex)roommate moved out of my house with her 3 kids and my son is gone till easter weekend.  So today seems like a good day.  Well and the prices of those nasty habit is getting a little outragous.  Now what to do with this pack of cigs I have in my purse?   I guess tear them up and do a dance on them. HaHa

Anyways, I was looking around for help on quitting, I saw this page, and thought how amazing this is.  I hope this will help me more then the other methods I have tried.  I see that many people are stopping today because of the increase of tax in addition to the lack of money with the economy.  The best wishes and a huge hug to those of y'all just starting.

And The Day is Today for many!

Thank you y'all!  Your support is wonderful.  I decided to give the almost full pack of cigs to another person at my work so I don't have those there to tempt me.  Drinking water is going to be a hard thing for me since I normally stick with Tea or Dr. Pepper, but I must do that.  I am reading and re-reading the "my program" section.  My only concern is my drive easter weekend from TX to MO to OK and back home to TX.  This is going to be a BIG deal trying to not smoke with this long drive, but I know I can do it (just keep some good beef jerkey to chew on).  I'm still trying to find out how to add the quit meter, I know I saved it onto my computer. I will get it, first I want to read the information under "my program" mainly before lunch time.  I did learn that as long as I bring my lunch to work I can go till 5 with out any problems.

first few minutes smoke free

Hi Neva!  I am with you!  I just stopped today as well, gave the rest of my pack to a co-worker and told them to keep them away from me!  The members have some great advice, and the site itself has some great advice as well!  (though I did just signed up today) So far everyone is friendly and ready to help you along this path to smoke-free living.  I do wish you the best, I am right along with you on this!

Henny Penny, I think the pillow sounds like a really good idea I would love to screw at this moment.  Customers getting mad at things I have no control over don't help much either.  I do think I will go to the dry sauna at my gym (at least for now) and sit in the nice 180 degree heat once I get off of work.  I know I should go and walk, but I don't think I can muster enough energy to do that today.  Plus a nice big bacon cheeseburger with some jalapeno popper sounds a lot better at the moment.  I know not at all healthy, but I only get a few times a month to eat like that.
Jim, Thanks for the idea, I will have to get me a goodie basket set up for the drive.  I just hope that I am not the only one driving...

Just realized that the form says I am 24 but i'm only 23. Why does it say that I am 24?  my b-day isn't till Oct. when I turn 24? .  And yes I did check out what date is in my profile.  It is correct.

Henny Penny--I so did not mean screw..  I really meant scream.   My mind was not where it should be I guess (and I was at work).  I feel so embarrassed

24 hours with no cigs..  so far so good, Got the urdge to smoke so I decided that fixing the plumbing for the garbage disposal and getting rid of old toys of my son's sounded like a better idea.  Got a non-smoking friend over to keep me busy playing skip-bo and watching TV and someone to keep me strong and away from cigs.

Thank you all for your advice and ignore me at times I tend to think with my fingers and not realize it.

ALL ABOARD FOR A SWEET LIL' TRAIN RIDE TO...........

I'm in, children free till the 10th and got to find something to do since I don't have any NASCAR tickets.  This thing have a good TV in it right?

I thought Texas was the home of fried foods. Oh well I don't get much out of my state unless it's dropping off or picking up children from MO or OK.

And The Day is Today for many!

Thank you Henny Penny!  I am doing pretty good today, though I am finding some nice candy that isn't doing me much good but keep my hands busy.   When I am at work I am just fine,  I am a receptionist so I don't get away from my desk much.  It is when I am home that I have the problem.  My sister will be over tonight to watch ER with me.  :(  I'm getting edgy and it's already have a tendency to cry easy so I think I will have to get a nice big bowl of ice cream for this 3 hr series finale.  My lovely sister will keep me in line and busy.

I am VERY proud of myself I have been to the corner stores and I have caught myself started to do my normal routine and buy cigs, but stopped.  I did talk to my guys at my normal corner stores and they have agreed to not sell me any even if I beg and pled.  Though I am sure some would if I ask, it's best not testing that and just say they won't.

It's off to the gym, only to find the sauna, since i had a plumbing issue I wasn't able to go yesterday.  Then ER at 7 and somewhere get on web cam with my son.

And The Day is Today for many!

Having George and Eric showing their face was great!  I kind of got some hints on how they were going to end the whole thing up a few months ago, but YES! the writers are doing a great job ending everything.  Glad to see Neela and Ray 'back together?' at least in the same city and just wonder if Carter's wife will show up..  I keep telling myself "The show will be back"  but this time it seems really final!   I will have myself some ice cream and I am making some of my meatloaf for me and my sister since she  is in some dying need for my cooking or something besides fast-food (I'll say it's my cooking that she wants )

Well time to get off work!  I'll check in with y'all later tonight.
