Tips to keep your quit going....

Really great thread CT!
I recommend rearranging the furniture in the room you smoked most in,  and your desk, your place where you have your morning coffee and your computer desk! It really works in easing cravings. I think it breaks the association of the brain with having a smoke when the room or desk was a certain way, but it does work!
Also, if you get the blues, try Vitamin B complex and or Vitamin B 12.  (I took both!)
When a bad craving hit, I used to say "Smoking is not an option, what else can I do? and find something to do.
Quitting is so totally doable, it doesn't have to be hard at all. Be prepared and be positive, it will make all the difference in the world!

Marvini, you wrote every single thing I was going to write!
Sleep was a priority.  Straws, reward yourself everyday (did anyone mention that?), post here everyday whether you want to or not, and eat popsicles and chew on the sticks.  At work I'd hold onto a pen with my smoking hand while I worked on other things (no one knew why..... I think).  Oh, and go to bed early if time-off is an issue for you.

Wished I'd cleaned my car out sooner because that almost blew my quit.  So that was something I missed.

To whomever is reading this post (and good one CT), there is no good luck about it.  Take this advice, have a committed heart, and you can get through this too.

You are correct Marivi, I forgot to write SLEEP...SLEEP...SLEEP
I remember now that at my first month no smoke I felt like sleeping allot...
I really felt tired. I believe it was the body adjusting and trying to recover and start fixing the damage.

Thanks all for the input, its great to read all the different ways to keep away from the cigs.

I have found that keeping as busy as I can has helped keep my mind off of them.   By keeping someone at the house with me is really good also.  I did try to reach for one in my rope when I was taking the dog outside, but other then that one time I didn't even think of them at all.  I know 2 days down, but besides from the constant need to chew, I feel pretty good about this so far!

Lots and lots of gum, scribbling on paper, watching bad tv and sleep. But the best was knowing I don't want to go through the first few days of withdrawl again.
