Almost through hell week

I never smelled fabric softener on my clothes until I quit!  Its amazing the wonderful aromas you'll now notice!  And now with spring flowers on their way, just walking outside offers a plethora of smells to take in!  Enjoy!

Deb and Lori,

You guys are both doing such great job of quitting.
Both of you are starting to notice the benefits.
Bet you can smell your shampoo now too. Everything starts to smell good :)

Ashley is right... lots of other members talked about being sleepy and needing more sleep.
You used to find time to smoke ... maybe there is time for a nap???

I'm in your cheering section so
Hang in there!  Almost the weekend!!!

best,
HP

Don't give up trying. You can do it, we all can. It is getting better.

Ashley just told me:
Fatigue is a common withdrawal symptom and is generally the result of:
  • Your metabolism slowing down
  • The lack of nicotine which is a stimulant
  • The increase of exygen present in your bloodstream
  • Nightly sleeping disturbances
  • Caffeine withdrawal

Take naps if you need to as you wait for this withdrawal symptom to pass. If it persists beyond the first few weeks of your quit, see your doctor for further assessment.

Knowing that this is normal for this to happen helps. Hope it helps you too.

I am feeling pretty tired myself.  I am normally alway tired but it does seem that it's worst today then it normally is.  If my boss was going to be at work today I don't think I would have gotten out of bed.  At least tomorrow is Saturday and a good day that you can sleep in.  I know I am looking forward to it! Since this sat. and sun. are my only times to sleep in till after memorial weekend.  How great does it feel having a week under your belt with out having to deal with that nasty habit?  I know I was driving to work this morning and I could actually smell how clean my shirt was.  I don't remember when the last time I put a shirt on and could smell how clean it was hours after I put it on.

Congratulations Deb
The key is to take one day at  a time, and the days add up. You are done with Hell Week, and that deserves a reward. What do you have in mind
Be proud of yourself. Be alert and be patient. Ah, and drink lots of water.
Keep the good job!
Hugs
Marivi

boldI have almost made it through hell week. Today has been harder than most but it sure makes you feel good when you get through the day without smoking. I had a day today that was just begging me to smoke. I am learning about cues to smoking and relating a situation with smoking. I am trying to keep a sense of humor about everything. My biggest prob is just being soooo tired. Can't wait for that part of the quit to be over. Thanks to all who have written me encouraging words. I will keep the quit!!!
My Milage:

My Quit Date: 3/27/2009
Smoke-Free Days: 6
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120
Amount Saved: $24.00
Life Gained:
