Hey Shevie,
While we're on the subject of getting dates mixed up, (congratulations Carole on one year last month) I know a luna that will be 2 years quit next month!!
Fun innit?
Penitent d727
Yes, it has been two years but I will keep this brief.
I want you all to know that after the first six months it has been relatively easy for me to stay quit. I say this to give hope to those who think quitting is unbearably difficult, it doesnt have to be.
I am tired now and will leave this stage to retake my seat at the back of the stalls as there are much younger quitters here whose stats are far more deserving of praise and I praise you all as you make your very distinctive marks in your battles to overcome this terrible addiction. I implore you all to keep on.
On this occasion I choose not to reply individually to those who posted here but to just say thank you all, your kind and loving words mean everything.
Its been fun and my promise still rests with my very special quit buddy, I will remain smokefree until the last.
Love to you All

Hey Mr Ed,
I know that pub, I've been there many times since I quit and seen and felt similarly.
Good observation and a little sad but you got to the right decision 96 days ago and for that you should be proud.
Let's hope the young man in the pub with his lady gets it one day just like we did.
Good Luck

Hi Stubow,
My pleasure and I note that Shevie has joined too which is a good thing.
Sorry to hear of your struggle yesterday but day 16 is early in the quit as you know since you've been there recently.Experience should help.
Grit your teeth and get through it, nothing and I repeat NOTHING works more than sheer determination. There are aids to quitting smoking, use them as you see fit but if you want to get where Shevie is and beyond, you just have to want it badly enough. He did, I did and you can.
Want it? Take it!! It really is as simple as that! And that's not just for Stubow, that's for all you new May quitters too!
All the Best

Not being funny but after 2 years, rewards don't seem to figure as much for me any more, perhaps they should.
That said, I am happy to have an airline ticket for July to meet up once again with a former May quitter who became a permanent June quitter! Every time I take that flight across the Atlantic, it's reward enough, believe me!! And besides, I know the monthly clubs seem to stick to themselves but some May/June cross-fertilisation ought to be encouraged!

Some can be offended by things that do not offend others. Sorry Lady if you were offended but I was just letting Juju know that what was written did not offend me. Obviously Rob's got it worse than you and Joe is more like me and then there's BFS who offers a very valid alternative view which I believe is very powerful and more to my way of thinking.
Opinions and views!
