Weekly weigh in was today. Results = + 0.8 pounds :( I have no doubts why this happened. I was on a short weekend vacation and I ate way too much (fast food, red lobster, homemade fudge, ice cream, and so on). I am NOT discouraged and I am back on the wagon today. I'm proud that I've lost over 8 pounds altogether :) By the way, I noticed that there will be a sister site for weight loss. Danielle or Casey, do you have any idea when this site will be up? I think it's a great idea and I look forward to utilizing this new site. O K I admit it I have became a couch potato. I do walk 20 min a day and that is about it. I try to diet during the week but on the week end it's katy bar the door to the refrig. I have gained about 10 lbs since I quit. I get so disgusted sometimes I think I will just go back to smoking. I know I won't do that. I have worked too hard to get here. Oh well I will just keep trying. I went to my weekly meeting last Tuesday and was very happy with my results. I lost 3 pounds in the last two weeks :). Total weight loss is now 9.4 pounds! WOO HOO! Now, I'm very close to being back to pre-quit weight. I still have quite a bit left to lose, but I am determined! I read an article in this morning's paper that put whole wheat bread at the bottom of the list of choices to eat while dieting (glycemic index). Above it were sour dough and white bread. Top of the list was pumpernickel. I'm not a big fan of dieting. I prefer to increase exercise and activity and watch portions of the food I like. This article got my attention because it wasn't that long ago I was chased away from white bread. I'll read what "they" say but if you took what "they" said to heart you'd be chasing your tail for no good reason around in circles most of the time. Boxerfan, Think portion sizes. Choose healthy options where you can and make a trip to a nearby grocery store for replacements to the traditional mini-fridge options. :) Have fun and congrats on the loss! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Weekly weigh in was today....I lost .2 pounds. I'll take even a little considering I had a tough week. My nephews were here for the week and I ate way too much junk food and dinners out. This starts a new week :) Total lost = 6.4 pounds. I do expect this week to be challenging. I'm going to Phoenix with hubby for 5 days. He will be working Wed-Fri and we're going to a conference Fri afternoon-Sunday. It's going to be difficult eating out three meals a day. Food will be provided at the conference, so this worries me as well. I'll just do the best I can. Any suggestions for coping with this would be appreciated! Bless your heart BFS! My weight issue came looking for me, no waiting for me to notice or ignore. I have a plan but it doesn't include dieting so my progress has been slow. I've stopped the monster's advance but getting it to retreat has been hit and miss. Unhooked, you have got this figured out. Biking, walking and running will work their magic (note I'm still trying to avoid dieting).
