Hi StellaBlue,
 Congratulations on 5 days of being a quitter! The reasons for quitting do not really matter so long as you quit. For no reason at all is one of the BEST reasons. It does sound like you are fed up with being a drug addict. Nicotine is a very strong drug as you know. Think of your previous quits as preparing you for the final quit journey that you are on  now. Almost a week now, can you believe it???  Be proud of yourself and be sure to reward yourself too. It helps to re-enforce your quit.  On your other quits, hot long did your longest attempt last? I'm just curious. Hamster on a wheel.... I like that description of the Nico-Demon doing his best to run and ruin your life. You're back in charge now and I wish you the best on your journey.
Stay strong and watch out for all those triggers.

I started trying to quit in December of 2016.  I spent all of 2017 suffering, more or less, due to the constant trying/failing to quit, and the on-off way I was taking Champix to help.  Last week, I happened to finish a pack right before bed.  And for no particular reason, I decided not to buy any in the morning.  I'm basically just depressed with myself and tired of being a hamster running on the same wheel month after month after month.  This would all be over already and behind me, if I had just stuck to any of my quit attempts over the past 1.5 years.  I'm armed with more knowledge now, though, more understanding of how I experience this whole process, and more faith that there is a possible future for me that doesn't include cigarettes. Today is Day 5.
