Good one Brent. I have to agree you need the attitude to accomplish the quit. Let us know what you change your name to Relapser. We all really want to see you succeed at theis quitting thing. There are people that check in here regular that have been quit 3 plus years. Everyone just wants to help. It really does look to be possible. I personally hope that it is as I have been smoking for 36 years and don't want to do it ever again. One of these years I will hopefully quit 4 good. My problem is seeing other peopel who smoke. Sometimes they don't bother me other times it is the crutch that gets me smoking again. Last year a few months this year 3 days. Have 2 admit thou this is the best Stop Smoking Website I have found. My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 35 Amount Saved: $10 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 13 Seconds: 4

Relapser, I believe that attitude and a positive outlook will take you a long way toward a successful quit. Instead of
One of these years I will hopefully quit
try saying "I quit." Then you'll be ready to change your name to "I Quit". Quitting is doable -- hard but doable. Read the workbook, follow the program tools, prepare yourself mentally and emotionally, and don't take another puff. That's how to quit! your post sounds like you 'know' when you quit that you are going to relapse. a quit can't succeed with that thinking. you must choose and then "commit".....being around smokers doesn't really 'cause' a relapse,,,,,a relapse is caused when you 'choose' to take that sickarette and light it up. Learn tactics that give you OTHER choices....like vamoosing from the smokers group.
