Hello Selenea,

Welcome to our wonderful support community and congrats on making the decision to kick the habit! Thank you for sharing your story and your concerns - you are doing the right thing despite your feelings of anger and hostility currently.

You have reached a great place for support, encouragement and wisdom and members are always willing and happy to share tips and suggestions on helping you through your journey.

Please do review the program and tools available to you. You will need to create effective strategies to help you deal with or avoid triggers as well as a reward plan to celebrate various milestones. Planning and preparation is really the key to beating this addiction.

Please post as often as you need to and set up your quitmeter as well to show off your stats!

Good luck and stay strong,

Faryal

Hello Selenea, and welcome to SSC. Sounds to me like your body has made the decision for you, and so really you dont have alot of choice but to go along with it or you take the alternative and that doesn't sound good.
When you have been quit a while longer, I hope you will see that smoking has zilch benefits- really, I can't think of one at all. But non smoking has everything going for it.
Welcome aboard, I wish you every success.

Quit date March 29, 09.  Used Chantix which is a mircle worker.  Have an inhaler in my mouth now, though it has no tobacco in it.  Just something to chew on.  Do I feel better ... not yet.  I fell hostile and angry.  I think I feel angry because I'm being denied something I really liked.  Did I want to quit?  Not really.  Am I never going to pick up a cigarette again ... no I'm not.  After a routene blood test, my doctor told me if I don't quit smoking, the chance of me having pulmonary #@#@*$#$ (something I cannot even begin to spell) will happen in 10 years.  Basically I'll probably die.  When your body starts making extra red blood cells to get more oxygen to your lungs, you know you are in trouble.  Anyhow, probably more information then I intended to devulge.  Thank You for listening.  And good luck to all of you out there removing the smoking curse from your lives.
