Just realized it's actually Day 9. I guess it's a good thing that I am not really counting anymore :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 90 Amount Saved: 23.40 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 43 Seconds: 47

Hi everyone. Day 8 and all is well. No urges for cigarettes, some for chocolate. And I discovered ice cream & put on 1 kg. Argh! I have a question: Did anyone experience insomnia when quitting? I've never had problems getting to sleep but in the last couple of days, I lie awake in bed until 2 AM or so. I am not nervous (that I can feel), and I am not craving cigarettes, so why? It was amazing to find out exactly how accutely smoking had affected my senses. I was never a sweets eater until I quit smoking. Now I'm finding that I really will have to watch it. Way to go Azure! You are doing it!!! I know what you mean about how things taste so much better! Smells are stronger too. I was amazed at how awesome our X-mas tree smelled! I sure notice the smell of smokers in stores a lot nowadays too. Yuck! It is a wonderful thing that you are doing for yourself and your family. When your little girl has school events and things you will be able to enjoy them without thinking of when you will be able to go smoke! Enjoy your new freedom! Day 4 over, and feeling very good about being a non-smoker! Had some cherry tomatoes with olive oil and couldn't believe how good they tasted. I look at my little girl and feel so happy that I will be there to watch her grow and have her own children. Thank you all for your help :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 40 Amount Saved: 10.40 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 8 Mins: 54 Seconds: 0

Day three - you're going gangbusters. Fight the good fight, and airmail me some asparagus, wouldja? That's my favourite veg in the world! Best tell your DH he's stuck with the new menu, you'll find everything you ate before you started smoking tastes 100x better and everything you first tried after you started smoking is now a BRAND NEW FOOD! I found that most remarkable and could explain the extra 15 lbs I've adopted. But hey, I'm a non smoker now so who cares! (Pass the chocolate...) x T PS thanx Cuban :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 367 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,441 Amount Saved: 2,018.50 Life Gained: Days: 31 Hrs: 7 Mins: 10 Seconds: 13

Hi CoteD'Azur Welcome and congratulations on your decision to take your life back!! Don't worry about the chocolates, and pastries do whatever it takes to make it to another smoke free day. I couldn't imagine trying to quit with a smoker in the same house and you should be proud that you are doing this. Try to get in an exercise routine since it's too cold out and focus on deep relaxation breathing. I personally wouldn't suggest coffee or wine until like you said "I feel brave enough". For now you could switch to Tea or hot chocolate something you didn't associate with smoking. Lots of water helps! At times I still feel hungry and chew a ton of gum. It's better to deal with a dentist than a pulmonary specialist. Stay strong we're here for you!!! Kayla Todash sorry for the delay but CONGRATULATIONS ON ONE YEAR!!!!
