Bea, I'm so happy for you! Isn't it wonderful when you realize you can smell again? It's a wonderful motivator to keep going and realize all the other little rewards along the way. Next your sense of taste wil improve, then you'll notice your skin & teeth looke better, then your hair. I don't want to ruin the surprise for you, but there are so many other noticeable milestones along the way an each one is to be appreciated & celebrated. You're looking great, bea! Keep it up & keep up the positive attitude! Gumby, hi, I remember you from awhile back! It's nice to see you again and REALLY nice to see that you're still quit & so confident about it! Good for you! I over the years have tried to quit smoking and was unsuccessful after several attempts. One thing I know for sure is that you have to want to quit.I do agree with the others that this is a horrible addiction. Pat yourself on the back everyday because you certainly deserve it. Every minute that you don't smoke is a celebration. For the first time since I quit I was in a very smoky environment this past Friday and I knew that I had finally licked it. I had no cravings and the smoke did not bother me at all. As a matter of fact, the whole time I was there I had a perma-smile knowing that finally I was a non-smoker!! Congratulations you all new and old, we are non-smokers. Thank you for the welcome. I have grown to appreciate this site very quickly. I have recommended it already. I'm having a great Sunday. Let me just share - I love Panera Bread, but I never actually smelled the inside of one. I walked in today, and the bagels, the sandwiches, the pizza, it all hit me! I stood in the front just breathing it all in. The staff looked at me like I was crazy. I looked at them, laughed and said "I quit smoking 5 days ago!", they looked at me smiled and said "carry on!" It was wonderful. I actually enjoyed tasting my food, each savory bite. It was like I had been locked up for years and now I"m enjoying freedom! I guess in a way I am - FREEDOM!! FREEDOM AT LAST! THANK GOD I HAVE FREEDOM AT LAST!
