Day 2 depression

Beverley, many of us in our early days "gave it a pass"...decided not to risk putting our quits in jeopardy so soon. Yes, it's boring, but only you can decide how important it is to you. Are you willing to forego a social occasion in order to protect your quit? That could be necessary for a bit until you feel more comfortable. Cigarettes Not Smoked

I'm sure you're right Danielle, I expect I should plan strategies for being around smokers this weekend... but I'm not really sure what those should be. I can't ask them not to smoke as I'll be in someone else's house. Maybe I should give it a miss? Not too bad really thanks - I thought it would be harder (this time I'm going cold turkey), I just pulled out a couple of pieces of cherry menthol chewing gum about half an hour ago (not nicotine gum), and that's been enough to keep me sane so far...I even had a couple of glasses of wine no problem - but I know I need to keep focused.....

Beverly, Wrong! Get your coping strategies in order and plan plenty of distractions to keep you busy. You're right it may be tough having other smokers around so plan ahead. With regards to the Add a Buddy icon, it's for the SSC IM. The IM is located above the forums, just click on the blue launch icon. Add your buddies from the site to your list and away you go! I'm not sure it's working on this forum - it doesn't appear to do anything or show up anywhere else...

By the way - could someone tell me what the button reading "Add to Buddy List" is all about? Thanks. I've been okay so far thanks... though I've been snacking quite a lot! I have a feeling the weekend might be quite hard, what with other smokers around me, but there's nothing I can do about that. How about you? Hope you're not having a tough time.
