Hey Sal,
You and I are definetly in the same boat. I just recently quit, and I'm seven months pregnant. If you can find the post that I put on here titled "In time of need" it explains my story,of the loss of my daughter, due to smoking. Its horrible, absolutly devastating. You don't want to live with that guilt. What you need to do, is set a date "make a plan" Remember if your going on a road trip, you don't just drive to the end of your driveway and decide to go,because you'll be lost forever, you need a plan..a map persay.most people if going on a road trip to somewhere they've never been, would either buy a map,or map quest it.So lets say your quit date, and this website are your map.Think about your unborn child.I don' know how far along you are,but if you can feel the kicks, then this will be as easy as breathing.I don't think there is such a thing as the bad first day,or even hell week.It just takes a certain mentality to realize,"Hey,I don't really "need" this cigarette" Depending on how long you've smoked,it may be highly habitual, like after eating..an so on,you'll find lots of advice for "what else to do" on this site. There shouldn't be any question whether you should quit or not,it should be when your going to quit.So I think your first step would definetly be to set a quit date. Then make sure you do the smokers journal, that will tell you to write how many cigarettes your smoking,do this 3 days before your quit date, and follow the guidelines religiously, remember Sal its not just you anymore. You are now a parent, and you MUST do everything in your power and everything in youe being to protect your baby.Let us know how everything is going and when your quit date is. Love,Marla
