Hi there Sal, How are you doing girl? I think you will make it this time because we are NOT going to let you pick up that one. We are here to guide you and when the baby is born we will all come over and celebrate with you. If you smoke during the pregnancy you'll have to pay all the tickets!! How about that? Good luck Sal. xxx My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 310 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,305 Amount Saved: 914.5 Life Gained: Days: 43 Hrs: 3 Mins: 41 Seconds: 38

Sal, congrats on your pregnancy. I have some good advice for you girl. Now that your pregnant you know that you should stop smoking but you think it will be hard to do that. Wrong !! What you need to do is this: Search the whole internet for sites that tell you what smoking will do to your unborn child. If you do that good.... You don't even WANT to smoke anymore. Please find out everything you can and then THINK about that. You wrote: what mother in their right mind would continue smoking? That means you allready started thinking about the fact that you smoke and are pregnant. Think positive and act positive. Pregnant women cannot smoke. Period. Good luck and remember: With every cigaret you want to light up you have a choice. The choice is yours and only yours. Ask yourself: What do I love more: My baby or my ciggy. Hi Sal, and welcome to SSC, we're so happy that you choose this site for help and support... This is a great site and you will make it better. Congratulations on your pregnancy. You have the most IMPORTANT REASON TO QUIT SMOKING, YOU ARE HAVING A BABY......I believe you know this or you wouldn't be here. Your choice has been made for you. As Lady said, this journey is not easy. But it is doable...There will be days you will think that you don't have a brain. You might be lightheaded, dizzy, confused, irritable, angry, yell at people, forget what you are doing, don't worry that is part of the quit. Then there are days that go wonderful..We love those days....Sal, just believe and you CAN do this quit.... Hi Sal, Just wanted to check in on you tonight. How did your first day go? I have thought about you while I was out shopping with my daughter. This is one of my rewards that I do every week. Sal, rewards are very important. So don't forget to reward yourself often. They don't have to cost much or nothing. Just something you like to do. My daughter and I sat in the plaza and talked for 2 hours. I didn't buy anything, my daughter paid for our lunch. Those 2 hours just talking to my daughter was a wonderful reward. I look forward to it each week. Stay strong in your quit, we are here so just yell when you need us.. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hi Sal and welcome to the SSC. Congratulations on your new addition and on your decision to quit smoking. Both will change your life in ways you never thought possible. Quitting isn't easy but it is doable. Remember N.O.P.E. (not one puff ever). That is how we quit. Do not light that next cigarette, no matter what. The health of your unborn child depends on it. What more reason could you need? The reason quitting is so hard is because we are addicts. Addicted to nicotine and when we smoke, we are getting our fixes. Looking at smoking as an addiction instead of just a bad habbit, made a big difference to me in the way I thought about what I was doing. Be sure to check out the program tools to the left and develop a plan for when the cravings hit. You can be a successful quitter and this is just the place to do it! Sal, Welcome and please take a look around. The members have offered some sound advice, take what you need and keep it close. Start by preparing, kind of like your pregnancy. Your preparing for a baby, now prepare to not smoke. Our program has many tips and tools that you can use to help guide you through. Most importantly is the advice that the members can share with you. They know where you are coming from and can make a difference. Post often, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
