Getting harder

Hey Jacko, Good luck on your trip! At least you won't be scrambling around looking for places at airports where you can grab a few drags...... (I always hated that!) CJ

OK - I'm new to this site and I'm all over the board reading these wonderful words of encouragement. It's just the help and support I needed. No one else in my family smoked and they have no clue how difficult this is or how terrible it feels. This is my first day so I'm right behind you Northwoods. Last one last night at 8:00pm but for some reason I forget count my sleeping hours. Anyhow, I am already feeling like YUK! Headache, sweating, stomach ache..... YUK again. Not feeling the confusion/ dissassociated feeling I know is going to come yet - that'll probably be tomorrow. But, I know I can do this. I'm just going to keep cruising this site and reading all the accounts of people from all over going thru or having gone thru the same thing. (I had a relapse - quit last summer then started again this past spring) Anyhow, I've been berating myself for my weakness and wondering how in the &*($ I could possible put myself thru this again. Then yesterday I realized that beating myself up was not very productive and I needed to be more proactive and take control. So, I started searching the internet for help and I found all of you. Bless you all!

Sue, I quit cold turkey so I don't know about the patches but Day 3 was definately the hardest with me. You don't have to worry about going through this tomorrow or the next day or the next month. Just concentrate on getting through one craving at time. Remember you are fighting for life. Big battles come with a cost, but are way worth the benefits. And trust me it will get much easier at day 3. Day 3 was the only day that I busted out in tears. I am here for you this morning if you need me Sue. Stay strong you can do this. Northwoods, I was also surprized that the patch didn't stop cravings. Even if you are taking the highest patch, it is still probly much less nicotine than your body is used to. Just stick with it, it will get better very soon. Thanks everyone. I guess I just have to deal with this in order to get through. I just hope and pray it gets a little better soon. On a brighter note. We have a vacation planned mid-August. I am a great nature lover as is the rest of my family. We plan on doing alot of canoeing and biking. I am really looking forward to doing this smoke free. A new experience after 27 years of yuck. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 101 Amount Saved: $19.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 34 Seconds: 14
