Hi Bingo, Thanks for reply, have printed off the junkie thread, it made me laugh because it sounded so familiar...another mind trick i found myself torturing myself with was ...shall i cancel my A/L so i can get back to work quicker as that's always the big test...but what i was really saying was.... get back to work quicker in order to fail the quit quicker and get back smoking all the quicker!! The mind of addiction is a devious little monster!! Anyway thanks again for your support and the best of all my wishes for your own quit.

You are so right Hhhumph, we've got to remember that the only thing smoking gave us when we were feeling stressed, frustrated, angry etc was ADDITIONAL stress, frustration and anger when the nicotine levels got low. Now feeling a little pleased with myself, got the quit date fixed so i can now see in black and white just how long etc, etc. longest time without a cigarette in 22yrs, since my first pregnancy. Need to guard against feeling smug as the big test comes next week when i go back to work, (i quit whilst on annual leave) my workplace is very stressful and smoking orientated and i've always used it as an excuse for starting smoking again in the past. I'm hoping that i won't do that this time. Hi Bingo, thank you for that and where can i find the "junkie thread"? think I'll need it. That was very intuitive of you to recognise that actually telling work colleagues is going to present a hurdle, makes it more official, adds pressure, will they all be scrutinising to see how I'm managing? Are they going to minimise any objections i have "She's just stressing cos she needs a fag" Not sure how I am going to overcome the stressors and triggers and my shift pattern is a long day, (07:00 - 20:00hrs)Must admit am feeling a bit weak and wobbly at the thought of it, 2 days A/L left My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 473 Amount Saved: 75 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 1 Mins: 6 Seconds: 32

When ever I am having a hard day or time of it ... I just try and remember all the people on here saying that it DOES get easier ... I tell myself that what I am feeling is part of the process ... it is normal ... and that this too shall pass and that I will be the better for it ... it helps! Instead of hoping that you won't do it again. Start preparing and planning on how you are going to stay smoke free once you return to work. Arm yourself, protect your accomplishment. You can do it lilly. You really can. Believe. Congrats on your 2 week quit!
