Holy moses, Roses, you sure picked a heck of a place to celebrate your big 30 days!  Congratulations!!  I especially like the start of your post: "I am very proud to announce..."  As well you should be.

DH and I travelled across southern Utah as part of a big road trip last year and we got to Bryce for a day as well.  He still smokes and suffered tremendously on the Bristlecone loop and I ended up doing the rest of the day myself (up to Inspiration point was the crux) while he dozed in the car!  I totally know where you're coming from and hope you treasure that experience as much as I did mine.  Also hope the only breathtaking thing was the scenery!!

Very good to see you didn't let that rotten email sour your day.  Sometimes it's so hard to remember that words are only letters when our life experience gives them such powerful meaning.  Come to think of it, when those same letters are arranged in a language we don't speak they actually mean nothing at all! Chew on that the next time you get a snarky email.

In my experience, insults thrown my way are usually the outward expressions of the insecurities of people who are trying to lift themselves up.  Sadly the only way they feel lifted is by trying to knock someone else down.  I only wish those toxic trolls would take the time to stop and gaze up at the stars, and let sink in how insignificant we all are in the grand scheme of the universe.  The 'small stuff' we shouldn't sweat is smaller than most of us can imagine.  Insult away, Jack, it truly doesn't matter.

All the best to you on your continued journey.  Keep on climbing, every day is a step higher than the last.

x T

Great job Rose!!!!  Hiking at 9000 feet  WOW!  I remember taking a trip up Mt. Hood when I was smoking and I could barely breathe standing still.  I would love to go now that I have quit just to feel the difference.  You are an inspiration.
Thanks for sharing,
Dawn

Roses, congratulations on 30 smoke free days!   Like Pen said, its one day at a time that leads to 300, 3000, and so many more smoke free days!  It sounds like you are having a great time on your trip!  And wasn't it a great feeling to go hiking and not be out of breath?  Gotta love all of the health benefits!  I love your reward too!  A celebration at Bryce Canyon!  WOOHOO to you!
