You have saved $1,580.00. This is money u have b/c u didn't spend it on cig's. Why don't you take some of that money and do something good for yourself. Hmmmmmm...sounds like you could use a vacation, or a spa day, or a shopping spree with a girlfriend. Sounds like u definitely need some "ME TIME" away from everyone and everything :)You've come too far to turn around. I did quit before & I do know that eventually it all goes away and you'll be happy you quit. U can do it! Just Breathe... Thanks for checking back in, Tryagain. We were worried about you, so glad you're still quit & feeling a little better. Please try to remember to reward yourself & go easy on yourself, it's such a hard thing & it's easier if you're good to yourself while you do it. Try again, That's fabulous news!!! I'm SO happy to hear that you're still smoke free! We were all starting to worry about you! As for it being this way forever, the answer is undoubtedly NO!!!!!! It won't! I promise. I remember thinking that myself as well. For a LONG time, I had that low-level background noise that was never a scream, just a dull whisper that was ALWAYS there. A quit buddy likened it to annoying telemarketers... you know that you're not going to buy, but it's still annoying nonetheless (my appologies to any telemarketers out there). But I promise you that it DOES go away! It does! Eventually, you will get to a point where smoking is a far distant memory that you don't think of except every week or two. Yes, it takes a while to get there, and it's a slow process, but it WILL happen. I'm glad your husband isn't cheating anymore. That's great news! I'm sure that was hard for you to deal with. Just keep supporting each other, and hopefully soon, you BOTH will be comfortable ex-smokers. In the meantime, just hang in there... you really are doing great! Crave the Quit! I am STILL smoke free. Can you believe it? 163 days of cravings and still haven't caved in. For the most part, they are now just background noise. Maybe this is the way it will be forever. I gave up the gum and then the craves got so bad I went back. Then I developed jaw problems from so much chewing, not only NRT gum but the regular stuff too. So I got the lozenges, and hard candy instead of gum. I got the sour candy because it works better. I still have a clicking in my jaw but it will go away if I don't chew myself to oblivion. Not only jaw probs, but a lesion in my mouth at was initially thought to be precancer, but in two weeks of salt water rinses it went away. This is just unbelievable! One thing, I think my husband has stopped smoking even a cheater once in a while. Instead of nagging him to quit, when I smelled smoke on him, I started nagging him to give me a cig. I not only nagged but berated him and accused him of being selfish and not sharing. I knew he'd never give me a cig. It was a calculated risk and it paid off. I hope the quit doesn't kill me faster than the cigs!
