I don't know of sites but I would guess there's plenty of them. Maybe others will recommend? It seems to be about cutting out the snacking type foods -cakes, biscuits, sweets, crisps type stuff, and upping the veg and fruit. But I wanted to post to say last night, I was cooking dinner, playing around with some chicken and wondering what else to throw in with it. There's only myself and daughter in the house now and I am desperate for us to get healthier plus eat more veggie (since they have virtually no calories and are so good for us.)
Well my 14 yr old won't eat veg. She'll eat fruit, but raw carrot is about the only veg. So last night I thought too bad, I'm going to sling in some veg. anyway. But I got the wrong blade on my processor (or the wrong length of time using it?!) and the veg. were getting chopped so finely you could barely see what they were any more. So I just kept going until they were practically powder. Then stirred them all in to my chicken stir fry.
So, not only did we get a healthy, low calorie CHEAP version, (more veg less chicken!) but my daughter for the first time in YEARS, got carrots, onion, broccoli, mushrooms and cabbage down her throat. She loved it and was really impressed when she found out there was tons of veg in.
Windy also posts about bulking out food (lasagne etc.) with veg. and I think that's a cheap and helthy way to go.
Good luck.
