Breaking free, Looking at the first post of this string where you started us on this I think it says that you are 135lb. is that right? How tall are you? I am 5'4" and 135 and my doctor says that that is just perfect. I am unhappy with my stomic but the only thing that will help that is surgery because it is all extra skin from the wieght loss. I am keeping in mind that my bmi is good and I can afford a few pounds (I think it was 5 more) before I am considered overwieght. depending on your height, you can probly afford a few too! I lost a lot of weight this year and now, jus this week I put on two pounds again! But the weight loss didn't make me feel much better about myself and I think it is adding to my depression right now. I think that I expected to look like a 20 year old bomb shell again and it didn't work that way. Now the quitting smoking, I told myself that I will feel better being strong and healthy. Now... I'm not so sure that that is living up to my expectations eaither. Weight is not nessisarily so all important. I know that when the worst of this is over (which I can only have faith that it will be) we both know that we can lose it again if we want. I have allowed myself some nice meals this week and now I do regret it, but at least I didn't smoke. It's a vicious cycle I think. Yes, but one thing is for sure. You may be really farther along than me on the smoking thing, but I have to say in all humility that losing weight is kind of my forte and that is easy for me! You help me with the not smoking thing and then when we get over that some, I can help you with the weight loss thing. Somehow, when I started on this, I was 206lbs and I found all the research and tracking and stuff facinating. That is really what started all the not smoking stuff with me too. Anyways, you can afford a couple of pounds and it will only take a couple of weeks to get it back off again. Hi! I still didn't gain or lose anything, which is exactly what I want to do. I am still counting WW points, and I seem to be exactly where I should be and I got to have a Chili Burger at Willies on Sunday with my church group and still did not gain a single once. I think that is great! My doctor started me on Wellbutrin yesterday to help me during the step down time on the patches in 6 weeks. I have heard opionons that it helps you not gain weight, and I've heard it makes you gain weight. That is one thing that is so frustrating about the quiting smoking thing is no one knows for sure. Maybe the researchers could skip studing that it is bad for you and start studying how to quit and how the process works in your body. That would be a big help, because everyone knows how bad it is for you now. Anyways, the quit did not go so great this week but my diet did. BF, I'm sorry, I think you got them from me! I lost 4 pounds! I have been working out really hard because of the stress from my stupid dentist appointment. Have you been reading my posts about that? I made it through but it was very rough. So I guess I have been kind of working out compulively to try and make it through that. I don't think about it while I'm working out and for some reason, the stupid tooth didn't hurt when I was working out. So anyways, I think that is why I lost. Also because my tooth hurt so I wasn't eating very much. I would say maybe you could go to the dentist but I wouldn't wish that on anybody. Me too but seems too early to think about Xmas. UK moves out of "British summer time" by putting the clocks back one hour tonight, puts us back into Greenwich mean time. Autumn in Cornwall mainly means rain, rarely get snow which is a pity. I'm sloshing down water and sucking polo mints at the minute to try and stop myself snacking!! I'm giving myself till next summer to try and sort out my weight slowly and sensibly....BUT I am so IMPATIENT!! It really does bother me at the minute. Are you coping with it Marie? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 170 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,110 Amount Saved: 850 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 2 Mins: 12 Seconds: 21

Hi Marie, thanks for thinking of me, that really touched me. Truth is I've been totally useless the last few weeks. I manage to get to work and then that's it....work--sleep, sleep--work, I am totally knackered and I reckon that it's this sluggish, lethargy that goes with all the weight I've put on. So anyway, yesterday was registration day at Curves and today my daughter and I have our 1st session, ( I reckon my daughter is only going in order to get me there, I was so nervous, it was ridiculous!!) I hope it doesn't kill me cos I'm working all weekend....I sound like such a wimp don't I? How are you keeping Marie? I expect you're getting busier at work. Have you had any snow yet? My son is spending 3 months in Canada in the New Year doing a snowboarding instuctors course...lucky soul. He's the only one of my children who smokes, my 2 daughters don't, and he is building up to a quit ready for Canada. So he should too, he's only 18 yrs old, I think it's crazy that youngsters start to smoke but then I was a rotten example to him all the years that I smoked. Well, here's to exercise...hope it works!!
