Day 3 - Not a good start

Kelli, keep taking this one day at a time, keep saying N.O.P.E., and you'll continue to go far!  My favorite smoke free side effect is smelling fresh, and clean, and like fabric softener instead of smelling like an ash tray!  You're doing awesome!

My Quit Date: 8/20/2008
Smoke-Free Days: 239
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,560

Hey Vaslim!
Here's the best test:  Ask your daughter if you smell better since you quit!  I bet she enjoys hugging you and talking to you in close proximity MUCH better now than a week ago!
Hang tough!!!  You and hubby are looking real good so far!  Sending lots of good wishes your way
Careful when you open the envelope so you don't lose any!!!

Hey Vaslim, there are some wise words in the posts here. Marivi is right, you should be seeing little bits of evidence by now that things are getting better for you, take a deep breath and feel how much better you can breathe. Look in the mirror, you should have more color in your face and you should see clearer skin, you should feel calmer, not jittery from smoking.
The changes may seem to be very small right now, but they are there, and yes it does get better, a little bit each and every day. You are saving your life and your daughter will be very proud of you. You will be around to see your Grandkids some day and that alone is worth quitting! Hang in there! Change your routine around as much as you can,  because it is one of the things that really helps. The fuzziness clears and soon you'll be sailing through and not even thinking about it!
You are doing great!

Hi Vaslim!
You are almost done with the physical part of the addiction. Stay positive and in the present. Fight one craving at a time. The first week is the hardest, and you are almost done. If I can do it, you can do it.
Remember, take one craving at a time. Drink lots of ice water, and be proud of yourself!!!!
Remember why you quit. You already are reaping nonsmoking rewards like:
Your hair and clorhes smell great!
You can breathe better.
You can actually taste food.
Your breath is great.
So hang on. Nonsmoking benefits will be piling up as days go by!!
Hugs
Marivi

Things always get better, it just takes some time and a lot of deep breaths.  It sounds like you have a great support system there. Look forward to how you will feel.  It seems that my quit hasn't been bad, but I do have my moments where I want to rip peoples heads off and curse someone just for saying something.
These people here has some great advice, and everyone here are great listeners in the moments you think you may be beat.

Rewarding yourself small and large ones.  Set up a big reward that you have been wanting to do or get after a certain point in your quit.  It will be something to look forward to.  Make a list of things that are benefits of stopping.  Keep this list in a pocket or within reach.  If anything just go into the bathroom or any room, close the doors and windows, and scream as loud as you can. Use a pillow if you don't want to scare the neighbors.  Find something you can do when you get the urdge to smoke. Sing a certain song, do a dance, Start to write.  Do something to keep your mind busy.

Just know that all things has a rough patch, you just have to get though it with your head still on straight and held up high.

Thanks Bob for thinking of me!  Today's still a struggle, but it helps that my hubby is struggling too and keeps talking me down.  We have been busy the last  2 days with a friend in the army who leaves for Iraq in the morning, this has also helped.  Daughter is out of school this week so she is keeping me on the straight and narrow.  Now if I were alone.......
You all keep promising it will get better!!!!!!
