Day one and continuing

18 years ago 0 51 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well, Day one is almost over. It hasn't been as bad as it could have been but I figure there will be worse days coming up real soon. I think my body and brain are in shock at the moment. I have been cleaning with Simple Green and Dr. Bonner's peppermint soap. It is really disgusting to to sponge off a bookcase shelf and have the sponge come up rust colored from nicotine. YUCKIE!! How much of that is in my lungs? When I cleaned the ionic breeze air purifier.....oh, it was so disgusting. The nicotine is real stiky and hard to get off. I made such a mess. Instead of sitting down for a cigg break, I sit down for a Dum Dum lollipop break. It is amazing all the flavors they come in. I plan on taking a shower and then putting roast beef and veggies in crock pot to cook overnight. Tomorrow I will start cleaning the kitchen cabinets. capp My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Hi Terri, I didn't know about the little hole on the Dum Dum sticks. Thanks for the info, might come in handy. I've always believed a positive attitude leads to positive results so I always try....not always easy...to stay positive. I wore myself out cleaning today with so much more to go. That monster left his prints everywhere!! capp My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

imallclear, Thanks for your welcome. Lol, cleaning house is not my favorite thing to do. Actually, I am disabled so the county sends someone in twice a week to clean, do laundry, pay my bills, etc. But these people just want a pay check and do just as little as possible. Chantix seems to be helping some with the cravings. As much as I smoked, I bet it really hasn't kicked in yet and I'm not getting the full benefit. I've spent a lot of time reading old posts and offering support where I can. You're right, it takes the strength of all of us....one of us may need all our support one day and be offering support the next day. capp My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Capp, So so sorry to hear that. The first couple weeks are difficult. It's all your firsts. Get all your ducks lined up for your new quit date and don't give up. I know you want this, and we all want it for you. You are stronger than the addiction. Next time you are going to have a cig...post first here and then wait for 10 responses before smoking!! Don't beat yourself up. The addiction is tricky, but you can be trickier!!! lladro, That's a great idea to replace your "smoke and coke" with something different. Just another idea for Capp and lladro, I bought a bunch of hot tea's all different flavor's. This was my major smoking distraction at home. If I wanted a cig after dinner or whenever, I would start the tea kettle, pick out a flavor and make tea. This process can take 10 minutes or so and the tea always smells soooo good. It was a great distraction and got me through the crave every time. Of course I was tea logged a couple of nights, after drinking 5 cups of tea (LOL), but it was worth it. 6 weeks later, and I don't rely on the tea to get me through the craves. Now, I just enjoy it to relax. Good luck you two, and post often!!! Capp, Remember, your going to have some hard moments...intense craves and just over all "AAAAGGGHHHH". Breath deep, and remember your reasons for your quit. One minute, one hour and one day at a time. Before you know it, you will have made it through hell week. Hang in there!!! Keep fighting those nicodemon's.....they are trying to work their magic on you. See them for what they really are and hit them with everything you have. Hey Cap, I wasn't there to welcome you so - WELCOME! You're doing great. Will you come to my house after you finish your house? Staying busy is a great idea. I'm not familiar with your medication. Is it helping? No matter, what - It's gonna be tough. Read old posts and post often - for help and to give support to others. We're all in this together. This nicotine is a huge monster and it requires the strength of all of us put together. Get tough! P.S. Sometimes we are all weakened by this nicotine demon. Post then too, we'll be there for you.
