Hi, I'm the Parrot psych nurse but I am NOT suicidal, thank you! I have 1 month = 30 days today. I am 52 years old and have smoked since I was 12. Well, if I can quit after 40 years and fairly easily too, then son, so can you. It is ALL about attitude. I have been called stubborn (who'd dare?), but I prefer to think of it as "goal oriented"!! And I have made up my mind that I am not going to smoke any more. Period. I don't care what happens. Earthquakes, flood, famine, murder, or mayhem, doesn't matter, I'm not smokin. Doesn't mean it's easy, just means I have made up my mind. And you can too. Decide. It's up to you. Everyone has their own issues, don't make other people's issues your own. Take what you like and leave the rest.
I also find that if I stay in the Stats Parade and the General Forum, I dont read so much about others' issues, and I don't get caught up in them, because there is that issue I have about helping others, which could be called co dependent but I wouldnt want to diagnose myself, just because I married a couple of alcoholics (at different times, of course) and am a psych nurse.....
