My problem is falling asleep at night, but once I'm asleep, I feel like it's a good sleep throughout the night. I will toss-n-turn for what seems like hours before being able to fall asleep some nights. I just started on my 3rd week of not smoking, and some nights are easier than others. I exercise for about an hour at least 3x a week, so this helps, and I am on a regular sleeping schedule (early to bed, early to rise). I've never been big on taking any pills, prescribed or over the counter, as they always seem to make my head feel like it's a ballon attached to my neck by a string. It's important to release all of the extra energy that your body is producing by not smoking. This energy can be in forms of stress, irritability, anger, depression, etc. Even if you take a brisk walk, or get on the floor and do some sit-ups or push-ups, this might help release whatever energy you are experiencing. I know that we are suppose to drink lots of water, but I would not suggest drinking all of this water before bed (or else you'll surely be up all night) ;)
I guess my suggestion to the restlessness is to use your energy on something positive and be sure to communicate with your support group to get things off your chest.
Good Luck!
