quit day

18 years ago 0 2 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I haven't had a smoke sinceeight sunday night. It's been tough. I think my first day was designed to test my resolve. I burned myself, broken a nail so badly it bleed, and cracked my head on a hanging lamp. I got into a minor disagreement with my boss and had to fend off the crap coming from the disbelievers. Through all this though tempted I didn't take a drag. How cool am I!!!!! Monday, March 20 is my first day. I've tried to quit before and it didn't go so well. Everbody around me has a negative veiw of me quiting because of all the times I tried before. This made me want to smoke. This time however I'm working with attitude. This isn't about them. It's about me and how I feel. This time I'm not listening to what they have to say. I'm doing this so I can enjoy whats important out of live, My chidren.

Hi Allynna! I was just wondering if you stuck with your quit this morning? If so, how are you doing so far? Just taking it little by little helps a lot. When you look at the big picture (like a month or so) it can get overwhelming!! I still think that way. I only concentrate on getting through today. Using the tools on this site really helps too. Plan your quit. Then stick to it. You sound like you have determination to suceed! Don't listen to everyone else. Are they non smokers? Then they cannot possibly understand. and if they are still smokers, then they are probably jealous. Anyhow, listen to your kids. Listen to yourself. You can do it!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!!! don't worry about the nay-sayers. You believe in yourself, and your own resolve. That's what matters... Congratulations on you decision to quit and welcome to the SSC. You have come to the right place. Quitting isn't easy but don't let that stop you. Don't worry about all the unsuccessful attempts in the past either. We all have them. Most of us have quite a few. Remember N.O.P.E. Not One Puff Ever. That is the way we all quit. As long as you can do that you've got it made. Take one step at a time and you will make it. Be sure to check out the program tools to the left and have a plan for when the craves hit. There is a lot of information on this site that will help you. Read and pose when you need help. That is why we are here. Great attitude, Allynna. You are the only one that matters in your quit. Welcome to the SSC. I strongly suggest you work through the Online Quit Program here. Stay close tomorrow and the next few days at least. Read much, post often. Let us know how you're doing and how we can help. And remember to click the Show my Quit Meter box below the message box when you post. It lets us know where you are in your quit, plus it's really a boost to watch the numbers climb. You are so cool, Allynna! :) Maybe you should take a couple of days off before you do major damage, lol. Just kidding. Just move a bit slowly, be careful, watch the temper, and ignore the naysayers. You're doing just fine.
