I don't know about ya'll but for me it's usually more all or nothing. True, I've found some balance in some things in life but over-all I'm either doing really good or not so good and for the last 20-25 days I'm not doing so good on my diet/weight goals. It's 3am right now and I'm stuffed from tacos and chinese food! A part of me wants to go to 7-11 and get a pack of newports. I'm actually feeling short of breath too but don't know why. Probably just dehydrated from not drinking water & drinking lots of coffee & pepsi. How frustrating life can be and is...one day celebrating a yr smoke-free and losing 15 lbs and then a couple weeks later gaining back 1/2 that weight (at least) and wanting to smoke! Sheese! And what's really upsetting is that even though things will get better...as they always do...they will get bad again too...as they always do... Sighhhhhhhhhh :( And my fibromyalgia is really bothering me too :( I know a stupid cig won't help matters & what really helps to keep me from smoking,,,even just one (as if that were possible) is that I don't want to have to restart my quit meter, lol. So I guess I'll take my fat butt to bed! And tomorrow start drinking alot of water. No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... Lady, you are most welcome. I know youre upset about your dad smoking, but it still sounds as if hes trying to learn to quit. Your success has got to be a great inspiration for him. I told UFO once that life is sometimes so hard that I feel I need a learners manual. Its very difficult to get so excited about something and then get disappointed. Just remember that your quit is your own. Your dads has to be his own, too. Hugs to you. Not cravin', never cavin'. Hi ya Joyful! Glad to hear youre doing better today. Okay gang, we need a positive kick in the rear. Im carrying around 20 extra pounds. . . BUT I have the energy and ability to get out and exercise and do something about it. My daughter just got over a scary staph infection and my entire family has had the flu or strep throat or pneumonia this past month . . . BUT unlike many of the children I teach each week, my children are not permanently disabled, and my family is basically well. My house is old and needs a great deal of work. . . BUT Im not homeless and dont have to worry about being able to pay the mortgage. My eyes arent as good as they used to be. . . BUT Im not blind. My knees are not in great shape. . . BUT I can still walk. My mother-in-law has Alzheimers. . . BUT my children knew her when she was funny and adored them. My dad died in 2003. . . BUT I grew up knowing I was loved by a good, decent man. I smoked for 30 years. . . BUT NOW IM FREE!!!!! When you dont get the job you wanted, find out that the person you love doesnt love you, think youre finally going to break even this month and the car breaks down, feel that your husband/wife/mother/friend/kids may drive you nuts, check the mail and have 13 bills that need to be paid . . .just write down everything you can think of that is wonderful in your life. (Just a suggestion. It always works for me. It's one of the many things my dad taught me.) Life may not always be a bowl of cherries, but I believe that joy is always around if you look for it. Hugs, Hummy The REAL Seven Wonders of the World: 1. To See 2. To Hear 3. To Touch 4. To Taste 5. To Feel 6. To Laugh 7. And to Love."
