watching movies

14 years ago 0 39 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Ever since my anxiety started I have had a hard time watching more complex movies. In complex, I mean any movies that have more intense story lines. The first panic attack I ever had was during an intense movie and so I can see why it is such a problem for me now. I am able to watch comedies, romance movies, anything with happy endings. I continue to tell others (and myself) that I only like these types of movies because movie watching is an entertaining escape from reality and I would rather watch happy things than sad, scary or unusual things because we continue to have to deal with sad, scary and unusual things in real life so why would I want to deal with more of these things in movies. I just had to stop watching Avatar with my family because I was so uncomfortable and feeling anxious. I just feel like when I get like that during a movie, why torture myself?
