Obsessive worrying

Hugs:
You are so right on about the notes and writing things out..I had my notes in hand to help me with the calls this morning. Of course dealing with other peoples personalities and moods on the phone is challenging..especially if they are having a bad day and misinformed. The person on the phone this morning was informing me that the doctors Rx pads have been taken away from them and they could only do electronic scripting now..Of course I had to inform this misinformed person that this was not true because the doctor had just given me a hand written Rx last Friday and that I needed it rewritten so I could mail it in as per my carriers instructions. That the government meaning the Dept of Veterans Affairs doesn't accept electronic scripted Rx's they require a hard copy be mailed by me to them via the U.S. mail.to get my meds by mail. She was a bit rude and irritated in her response and said she would get the message to my doctor and they would be calling me back. I guess she thinks our leaders and government should be doing it her way..She doesn't know it's not good to mess with Uncle Sam.
I really think this is no way to treat a patient..I used to work in healthcare myself..This attitude is not good for a patients health.
I have to say that all the new electronic devices have really not been a help to me..Sometimes you need to do it the old fashion with paper and pad..Sometimes newer isn't necessarily better..

Sunny:
Thank you for your support and prayers as always..It helps to know I am not alone out here..I hope that you and Davit are doing ok..

Well I guess thats enough for today..Its been a challenging day so far...and there still lots to do..The key is to try to be patient and not let it make me sick..This is a example of health care at it's finest in the usa..

Sunny,Red, and Everyone!
I thought of an analogy.

Some people walk into a store and shop, but some need a list.

I definately need written instructions at this time in my life...

Hi Red and Hugs:  I've written down questions so I don't forget them and placed it by the phone so I can refer to my "notes".  I think that's wise to do when we are stressed over something.
Thinking of you R. and saying a prayer everything will go well for you.

Red,
Sometimes it's hard to maintain our poise under stress.  Imagine what our nation's leaders need to circumvent, in order to make decisions!

If the heads of state are having a bad day, it may be bad for all of us.

What was suggested for me, is to draft questions, and print or write them, so i don't forget stuff.  On the telephone(here's the gift of obsessiveness) I will review my message until it's right.  And on the phone, you can get immediate feedback - your own.

With the panic cycle threatening us, using any outside help is critical.

I guess all the gadgets we have are just an admission of our faults, weaknesses and needs.

Why not use all the tricks that are out there, and the creative people's suggestions...as long as it works

Everyone:
Sorry for the vent, but I just had to get it out..

This morning I am challenged by having to make phone calls to straighten out a Rx that was written wrong..I made a call already this morning to my insurance carrier asking what to do. Now I have to call my Dr office to get a corrected Rx. This is a medication I need to take to keep me out of hospital..I am so anxious about making this phone call..My message will have to go through so many people before it gets to the Doctor..and of course there is the drive down pick it up..The phone, riding in the car, all the hassles, all triggers..Dealing with the Medical Care system is a major trigger for me..this is something I do not need while I am trying to get well..Staying calm is part of my prescription for getting well...All of my worrying is killing me..I will be relieved to get this over with..Than tomorrow I can focus on my appt with a kidney specialist. Than next week another test, a Colonscopy, Yippee!!!  I've already had nightmares about that one and woke up in a panic this week..

I can't wait for this to end....

Hello Sunny.
Thank you for stopping in and reaching out to me today..Your support really helped..

Hi Hugs..
I took your advice and did something I love to do today...I went for that walk on the beach and it made me feel so much better..It was great to get a little relief for all that popcorn popping in my head...Thanks so much for the support and advice.

Debora..
Take try to take it minute at a time right now while your sick..Thats what I have decided to do and it is helping me. Maybe it will help you too..Sometimes this is all we can do but it does lessen the anxiety..

Well I am off to finish watching the Academy Awards..Relaxing my mind is doing me good..

Good Night All..

If I could stop this I would be 90% better. The worrying is my main problem, right now I feel like I am dying of pnemonia because I am so sick.

Hi Samantha,

Two thought provoking questions? These always help..First I would have to say the 10 question list but this time I think working the session on worry like Hugs suggested would be more helpful..Second would be doing something I enjoy that takes my mind off of my problems like Hugs and Sunny mentioned. This has always helped and would most likely help me again..It does seems like when I am caught up in it that I forget to go back to the basics..So using my logical mind is very important too..In answer to your last question..If I woke up tomorrow and my problem was solved..I would be healthy with no doctors appointments to go to. I would be walking on the beach or at the lake, listening to the waves crash on the shore and watching the birds dancing in the surf or watching all the ducks swimming on the lake. I would be relaxing and enjoying my life to its fullest..

Thanks for the questions..as always..this reframing is beginning to work...I had forgot about reframing...

Hello Red1,

It all comes back to challenging the negative thoughts. Use your 10 questions, they really work!
Also as hugs4u mentioned there are specific sections of the online program that are designed for coping with worry.

What actions/ways of thinking has worked for you before? If you woke up tomorrow and the problem was solved, what would be the first thing you would notice was different?
