Debora, that is so nice that even though you are tired, you made time to visit someone today.  That is just the sort of way I would like to act in 2012 - to make a positive difference in the lives of others, just by reaching out more.  I am really looking forward to new opportunities in the coming year.
It has been so nice to join this community.  I wish it were under better circumstances that we come together but I do truly appreciate all that you have to share!

Thank you all, Happy New Year.

I am going to write down positives for the new year Samantha and I hope to tell you and the others great things this year. That was so great what you did Carmie, how you remained calm and got through it, that shows that you are brave and strong and recovering, I am SO happy for you! I love to here stories of members getting through thier fears and doing well, Its great.

thanks Sunny I needed to hear those words tonight. I am SO tired, no energy and reading you're words helped. I just ran a plate of food down too our neighbor, she is alone tonight and cannot walk well so I think she will enjoy it, doing for others I notice takes the focus off myself, which is a good thing, helping others will help me, I made a good "buffet" tonight I am proud of myself for that, lots of clean up too do after write this, they are all blowing fireworks off in the area and the loud booms are making me nervous, but more than that making my one dog nervous, he is terrified so I may have to go in the bedroom with him and put soft music on to drown out the noise, it will help me too, a little headache and I am tired from all the cooking and cleaning so maybe a little nap will help, I probably will not sleep but just to lay down with the dog and relax.

I hope the new year is good for all of us, I am saying extra prayers for us all tonight. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all!

CS:  you did very well up on the balcony without a railing.  wow.  I remember being in an audience for a play or orchestra and had that feeling.  I did just what you did, breathe and look around and see others enjoying themselves and start to relax again.  Concentrating on the entertainment which is why we are there in the first place, helped to relax me and ground me again.

Some peope always check the Exits, not because they are agoraphobic in any way, but simply as a safety measure whenever they are in a large crowd, in hotels, planes, etc.

Hi D:  Your body is still worn out, that's all.  Needs more time to recuperate.  Be gentle with yourself.  Glad to hear the anxiety attacks are gone, just some lingering symptoms.  It takes longer than a couple of months.  Hang in there.  If you take good care of yourself and keep up the CBT, bet by spring you will have lots of steps forward.  Keep positive instead of worrying and keep the faith.

Happy New Year to all!

Debora, I've been a little more anxious over the last 24 hours.  Last night we went to see a show and our seats were in the middle of the front row of a high balcony with no railing.  Even my brother-in-law and his wife thought the balcony situation seemed a little dangerous.  I very nearly had an attack.  I really wanted to leave the seating area for a bit but that would mean passing in front of everyone, in the dark, and during the show.  I decided that there was no use in fighting the attack, the best course for me was to accept that I was very anxious.  Yes, I did have all sorts of sad thoughts and wondered "Why me?" but the more I focused on breathing and relaxing, the less I thought about my symptoms and about how high up we were.  I looked around at the other people, enjoying the show - and eventually, I started listening to and enjoying the show.  It was pretty yucky for awhile there, though.
Today, the kids have left for a sleepover with friends and it is just my husband and me.  Unfortunately, he has come down with a really bad cold.  I am planning on going over to visit a neighbor shortly.  It's nearly 7 pm where I live and I think I'll watch Midnight someplace else in the world, if I can - with my hubby.
My plan for 2012 is to try new and different things and to approach life differently.  I think that the events of the past year have reminded me of how precious life is and how important it is to find good things to do every day to influence the lives of others in a positive way.  That is my resolution.  And I believe you can make 2012 a great year, Debora!

Is anyone else nervous today? About the coming new year? I am so happy to see 2011 go and I guess my concern is that 2012 will be similar, I was doing rather well for a few months then late Christmas night I kind of fell apart, I know a bad time too have a setback, I want to enter the New Year with optimism, postitive thoughts and good health, not worry or fear of the future.

This "wired-tired" feeling has been with me for a few days, I have walked, drank lots of water, and I did NOT overeat so I am surprised I feel so nervous and shaky today, I so want a good night with my family, I do notice after my pill and a bite too eat I am a little better and calmer, at night its better for some reason, the days are scarier, but at night, even through not perfect I seem to calm down, been fighting headaches all week, hoping its just from reading and too much TV, holiday movies.

Do holidays do this too anyone else, I use to love them. Happy New Year too everyone! and thank you for all you're help, you have all been terrific too me, I hope I can recover soon and help others too, that is my goal for the New Year. I wish the shake would go away today and the headache, just trying too get through it, sometimes, I read, its not one day at a time but one hour at a time, maybe I will try that, somethings gotta work! Happy New Year too all moderators and members, thank you for all.
