Body Symptoms Bad Today

12 years ago 0 542 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Thank you Carmie. That does make sense, all my worrying can probably tense my muscles up badly, it usually hits my stomach through and of course the more I think about it the worse it becomes! I do have moments of calmness {I wish they were not so rare} and I so love them! If I could just stop worrying about the future and what it beholds because the "rational" side of my brain tells me you cannot control it or stop it! Too bad my heart overides my brain! That has been a problem for me.

The box breathing does help Carmie, Sunny told me about that how it helped her, and I will try too find the muscle progression exercises somewhere on the forum, it can only help! I so appreciate you taking the time too write and care, I am hoping this is just a little PMS, I am due and peri-menopause has NOT helped this disorder at all in fact it brings it on stronger. I hope you are doing well you sound positive and upbeat and that is so good! Thank you.

Hi Deborah - I'm sorry to read the news of your week.  I wonder if your muscles are aching from all of the stress and tension that these kinds of events can cause.  When I worry about muscle aches (I've had panic attacks that started from worrying about such things), I sometimes find that the Progressive Muscle Relaxation can help me.  Do you remember that technique?  It gets posted in this forum from time to time.  I have a recording that I listen to where a nice soothing voice tells me which muscle groups to tense and relax.  By the end, I am usually feeling much better.
I also find comfort in doing some of the breathing exercises.  Sometimes it's important for me to focus on the present and the very breaths that I am taking.  When I focus on that, there's no opportunity to worry about things that could possibly happen in the next hour, day, week, ect - I just focus on taking breaths and relaxing.  One method that I really like is called Box Breathing - you can find that hear, too.  I will be thinking of you this weekend and hoping that things will get better soon. - Carmie

Thanks Davit that was comforting. I hope you're leg pain is better. My neck was hurting the last few days so maybe its that, its like in the shoulder region, I think I had it once before a few years back I cannot really remember too well, sometimes I block out the past which for me is probably good. I am going to take a long hot shower and use the massage head and I hope it relieves it somewhat. Thanks Davit for being there.

I have extremely bad pain in my right leg. Coincidence that it is where it is pinned. Doctors X-rayed it and found nothing. Another doctor X-rayed my back and found a pinched nerve. My point is that it is not always what we think. Just because you use your right arm for the dogs does not mean you are not staining the left side or your back trying to balance the load.

Thank you Samantha, the ten questions do help. It calmed me a little. I guess I am having trouble on the last question, "whats the worst that could happen?" I automatically think a heart attack, but that is my negative thinking. My neck was stiff and sore so perhaps the shoulder and arm were effected too, that is a positive thought and not as scary as a heart issue, I just am surprised my right arm does not hurt, I walk two dogs a day and they pull hard on my right arm! I am going to try too rest it now for awhile and re-read the ten questions,  especially the one about evidence that is important. Thank you.

Hi Debora,

Use your tools to help you challenge your negative thoughts, use the 10 questions. I know you've seen these before but I will include them again because I find they are so helpful.

10 Questions that Help Fight Anxious Thoughts
1.   Is it "true"?
2.   How do I know it’s true?
3.   Is the anxious thought 100% true? (Something less than 100% true is not true)
4.   What's the evidence for it being true?
5.   What's the evidence against it being true?
6.   Has it ever happened before?
7.   What's different now?
8.   How bad would it really be?
9.   What's the worst thing that could happen?
10. If the worst thing happened, how bad would it really be?

Thanks Davit for the info. Canada seems to have it much more together than the U.S. Very scary for my mom-in-law.

It made me very nervous today Davit, unless its the upcoming holidays? I have been having really bad left shoulder and arm pain? Do you ever get that? I am trying to tell myself its just a muscle ache or I slept on it wrong, but there is that one part of my  my brain that thinks its heart related cause its on the left side! I wish it were my right arm, at least I would know its from walking the dogs because I use that arm to walk the dogs, left arm pain scares me Davit, and I am trying to distract from it.

I hope you had a good turkey day yesterday. Look forward to hearing from you and Sunny.

Debora.

Nurses can not give meds without an order from the doctor. If you do not make sure the doctor puts in the order when you are admitted then you don't get them. If you are admitted from ER without seeing your doctor you will not get your meds. Even if a doctor admits you.
In Canada we are all on line now so the admitting doctor can see your chart. In the past I have been refused meds because they were not on the list even though they were on my chart. Keep a list in your wallet and make sure the admitting doctor sees it.

I had a fairly nice Thanksgiving. I did not sleep well I had strange bad dreams all night and woke up tired with a headache and my left arm is hurting so of course I think its my heart! Trying to distract and not dwell, its hard with the nerve symptoms.

My mother-in-law is in the hospital, I feel so bad she spent the holiday in the hospital. My husband went too see her today and walked into a "horror" situation! He was very shaken up {and he does not shake easy} His Mother is 88 yrs old and they diagnosed her with Colitis, she was crying and screaming and shaking when he walked in this morning, she did not even  know who he was, and she does NOT suffer from dementia or alzhiemers, she is pretty sharp and has her wits about her normally, For some reason they have NOT given her her med's for three days, she takes like six meds, and one of them is Ativan, they refused to give her that or any of her other one's, that is probably what was causing the bad reaction, I got shaky just hearing about it! What a horrible thing for a woman of that age too suffer so and on a holiday not less! They did the same thing too my husband last year when he was in the hospital three days {different hospital} they would not give him his diabeties med, or high blood pressure or his Xanax, he came home sicker than when he went in?? That is so scary.

Is it standard in hospitals for them NOT to give you you're daily meds? first my husband, then my mom-in-law and one of my friends told me they would not give her her meds either two years ago? Why would hosptials not give you you're daily meds?

For some reason this is causing me fear and panic today, and I so do not want to go there!! I am having chest discomfort and heart palps, arm pain and shakiness!! I so hope its just anxiety, and not my heart, I have been doing good lately and do not want to go back, but these symptoms are scaring the heck out of me! I just took my pill and I am going to try too eat a little something, I can not believe just hearing about the scary hospital situation did this too me! That should not happen, I am hoping and praying these symptoms go away, I have not had heart palps in awhile and those scare me! Is this anxiety??
