Bad Anxiety Today

13 years ago 0 1665 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi D:  i think taking a nap when your body is exhausted is quite alright - that's a bit of pampering for yourself.  Try not to worry so much about the should I or shouldn't I.  If you need a wee lie down, I think it's o.k.  If you were spending all afternoon in bed, then I think you might want to look at that more closely, but you aren't.
Glad you got the dryer problem resolved and hope your husband can get his appt. real soon.

Keep the faith and I'm hoping you do the relaxation ex. every single day.  They will kick in automatically after doing them for awhile.

That its exactly what I did Davit I took about a two hour nap this evening, I hope it does not interfer with my sleep I just felt so bad and achy it helped a little, I think I was just upset about the situation at home, hopefully things will calm down and level out.

I did not even walk tonight, I do feel guilty about that, I have been trying to walk every night but I did not even have the energy to do that! I think sleep does help no matter what time it is, I think it rejuvanates a person, my nerves have been high the last few days and I am trying to calm myself, how are you doing? How is the graverol and the withdrawal going? I hope everyone is settled in and I am glad you had a good birthday.

I learned a long time ago that if I am not getting anything done because of lack of sleep to sleep no matter what time it is. I nap if I feel I need it and I don't feel bad.

Thank you all for you're replies,

The good news is my husband got the dryer, but he had to cancel his cardioligist appt because the guy was only going to be there between 11:00-12:00 exactly the time his Doctor appt was, he knew if he did not go the guy would never show back up, which is probably true, I am glad we got the dryer and did not get ripped off but I hate he missed the Doc appt.

I feel very tired and depressed today, I only slept about 4 hours broken up, I could not fall asleep till almost 9:00am, how I HATE those nights, I got a couple hours but feel so miserable, how do you other members get through the day without much sleep? I may take a nap, just to get rid of the headache, my body was so anxious from everything I think going on. At least I did not have bad dreams, I just am SO tired, hopefully tommorow will be better and I can get back on track.

Hi from me, Debora.  I would echo what has been said about the Progressive muscle relaxation.  If you don't have that much time, you could focus particularly on your stomach.  That's what I do sometimes if there is a pain or a condition that is causing me anxiety.  I practice tensing that area and relaxing it, sometimes a few times.  It really helps me.  Best wishes for a better rest of your day!

Hi D:  I found the progressive muscle relaxation exercises and the visualizations the best for me.  Add to that the breathing ex. and you're all set.  Works every time.  It took awhile to get them to work for me, practice, practice every single day whether I thought I needed them or not.  When practiced in the morning it gets you ready for the day's challenges, to meet these challenges in a calm, relaxed state.  Same as at night, do the ex. then and you can have a calm peaceful night.
I found it interesting that after awhile if I sat in the chair where I practiced these exercises that my body would automatically feel relaxed before starting any ex.  It knew that this was the calm place.  :-)

Thank you Vincenzia for you're helpful reply. I am going to look up that progressive post right after I write this. Its been an axious day perhaps tomorow will be better, I think it has too do with my monthly coming, there was a time, before peri-menopause Vincenzia  I could literally set my clock for it, every 27 days, now its so screwed up and my hormones are all out of whack, but I have heard such scary negative things about HRT therapy it scares me, guess I will have to live with it.

Hopefully we will get our money back tommorow or the dryer, thank God its not too much money but it will still be a loss, I miss my dryer, I have so many clothes, if it turns out bad I will not dwell on it, its not the end of the world.

The cramps are bad tonight in my tummy, I ate a small piece of baked chicken and a few bites of macaroni and cheese, very very little but it did not agree! My stomach is my most vunerable spot, and it scares me but I am trying to get through it. I will look up that post now. Thank you.

Hi Debora,

Sorry to hear you are in a different situation that is causing you anxiety, something that is out of your control..
Don't forget the power of deep breathing!  It is a quick helpful tool that you can use anywhere, anytime.
Also, there is a post on Progressive Relaxation from a few days ago that you may find effective to help rid of those nasty churning, nauseous feeling you may have.

Hello Everyone,

I am very happy I have not had a full-blown attack in awhile. That being said I am unable to rid myself of the negative scary thoughts that seem to be ingrained in my brain. Like yesterday I cleaned out all my old bills, junk mail, papers etc.....to shred they went back a few years and really needed to be done, as I was doing it I had a terrible thought "at least when I die soon this will be done for my husband"!? Why do these thoughts of death and sickness STILL are invading me? When I was having the attacks daily I thought THOSE would kill me, now I think something else will? its like I traded off and I dont want to do that, right now my stomach is in knots and I feel like I am going to be sick, this constant inner nerves are so very bad.

I also had an argument with my friend today, Our dryer broke this morning and my husband found one at a used appliance storage bin, it worked there but when he got it home it did not! He called the guy back and he said to come back in the morning and he would give my husband another dryer or his money back, but why wait till the morning? he should of done it today, I am so scared this guy will not show up, its a used storage bin and he has our money and my fear is he is long gone, my friend said "I am negative and have no trust" but this is a stranger at a storage bin, not a store or private home, there IS always that risk, we should not of bought used but new they are SO expensive, I dont think I am being negative, just cautious, she really upset me, she was ripped-off by a good friend a few years ago and thought she would understand, I need a friend right now, but she is SO hard on me sometimes its hard to take. I think I will take a break for awhile from her, she tends to yell at me like I am some stupid child or something, I think anyone would be concerned. Maybe I tell her too much.

I have to calm myself down right now, I feel very very close to an attack, I felt bad before the dryer situation, for some reason I woke very nervous, bad dreams again! Don't you all hate that horrible churning painful naucous butterfly feeling in your're tummies? Like you are going to be sick? I have to calm myself down, I do not want to go backwards, I know my brain and nerves are still not healed so I have to be very careful, any tips or advice would help. Thank you so much.
