Hi Bren.

Celexa is a drug in the class of antidepressants. In years past this was not available. For the lucky and the rich there were retreats where you could go and rest till your seratonan levels stabilized. Now we use drugs because it is faster and cheaper. The poor used to suffer badly because there was no relief for them. Seratonan is what makes it possible to live with all the stress around us. Stress and other things such as certain medications effect the levels of seratonin which increases anxiety. A viscious circle. Celexa corrects this but since it is stress that caused it in the first place you still need to do something about that so that you will not need the Celexa. Unless of course the problem is from some other medication.
CBT will make it possible to get off the Celexa. It can even help with the anxiety side effects of medications. Celexa is going to seem like the answer because of how it works. But it is still only a bandaid. Please keep doing the the program also. The two will work far better that either by itself.

I'm glad you can accept what you have to to get better. That is a very good attitude. It does get better, I am proof of that.
