Josh,
Just below your profile are the options for the user, called support group options.  I didn't have success with those, so write to the techies using the "contact" form at the bottom of the page if the option you choose doesn't change.  There may be a time lag, though.

Josh,

Anxiety is anticipation holding it's breath.  To change your profile, while you're logged, in the "forums" part of the toolbar, look the bottom right, and you'll see "your profile"

Hi Josh:    What if you wake up and do have one?  You've had one before, what coping techniques have you enlisted to help yourself?  What has helped before and what hasn't?  Can you write out the 10 questions and answer them?  Sometimes if I get up and feel a bit anxious, I do gentle stretching and smile and think "what a beautiful day" and how lucky I am to be alive.  Think positive thoughts first thing in the morning and throw those negatives away.  I've deliberately told myself I'm going to have a great cup of coffee - or I'm going to have a relaxing shower - just anything positive to push away the negative thoughts.  It takes practice, but it'll come.  I have a great dog which lies at the foot of my bed, so most mornings I take my time and give her some loving before gearing up for the day.  This is a good positive focus to start my day.  What is there that you might look forward to each morning which would put you in a good mood?  Maybe you can use this positive thought to replace the negative one as I do.  Just some ideas.

Josh,

You expressed it exactly how it is. You also covered the three basics needed to do successful exposure. Perception, attitude and belief. It is a long road but it gets better. Much better. The set backs you will have are only reminders of how far you have come.
Keep at it and keep us posted how you are doing, even the lousy bits.

Josh!  You did it!  Congratulations!  That was an exposure.  You successfully talked positively to yourself, you accepted the symptoms without fighting with them (in other words kinda told them to take a hike because you had things to do and you were doing them anyway).  Please believe me when I say it will get easier.  The next suggestion I would like to make for you is to make sure you are eating well, hydrating and getting proper sleep.  Very important to restore your body back to health level before you had the panic/anxiety.  This is where the good nutrition fits in and the gentle exercise program (I don't know how physically fit you are, so depends on your level) and making sure you rest up inbetween bouts of heavy activity.  (by heavy activity, I don't mean just physical, but emotional as well).  I remember for myself, I could plan on doing one major thing a day until my strength came back.  Then as I felt stronger physically and emotionally, I could pace myself and take on more activities.  The more outings you have, the more confidence you will build.  And feeling nervous and a having a few symptoms during the outing doesn't mean failure, it is still a success because you did it.  These symptoms will fade.
Great going!  Keep believing.

Hi Josh2011,

Enjoyed reading your post. Yes this program is amazing and so are the people. Keep up what you are doing the way you are thinking you are heading the right direction! I can so relate to everything you have said. Keep in mind no one like you said has ever died from a panic attack & most important it always passes and it always does!

I know the body symptoms is what scares us the most but don't fight the symptoms they will pass float with them! They won't hurt you..

Your friend,

Maggie
