Yes you are doing it!! and Yes you can do this!!! You are getting stronger every day. I picture you doing a happy little dance and it feels good....Thanks for posting.
Of course you can do it. Why not, we have. See that is the advantage here, there is always some one to show you you can. That is what a group is for. To counter the negative. The program is the tools, we are the incentive. So much easier when you have something to compare it to. Other sites don't have this and you will notice they have less activity. It is very easy to get discouraged and waffle when you have to do it on your own. Your progress is our progress.
I have been stalled on doing the sessions. Stopped at 3 and was afraid to go onto Session 4... exposure work. I built up quite a load of fear about exposure work.... I feel silly about it now. After reading Red's progress and other members' excitement about working the sessions and feeling more confident, I was motivated to get going on Session 4.
It's not nearly as bad as I feared ... I can do this. In fact, I realize I have already been doing it. What a waste of time and energy standing around wringing my hands thinking I can't do this, I can't do this. Story of my life! Story of my life.... BEFORE!
I CAN DO THIS! i can't find an icon for happy feet... but that's what I'm doing... a little happy dance.
I made it to both classes this week without a safe person and felt no anxiety at all about being on my own. I really enjoyed my new found freedom.. As for the classes the first class is one I was in before summer break and it felt good to be back.
Everyone was very friendly and lots of students came up and introduced themselves to me..They didn't seem to remember me from the previous class..I guess I am not the only one with a failing memory..The second class went ok too..The two teachers have very different teaching styles. The first class is very relaxed and kick back and the second teachers style is more loud aggressive and controlling..These are both sewing classes..I was very surprised at how different the two classes are and feel. I am much more comfortable in the first class of course..Not sure if I will stay with the second one yet...All in all I am very happy with the progress I have made since I started working the program here and participating in the support group..These two things have helped me so much and made it possible for me start enjoying me life again...Thank you everyone..
Hi Red: Good luck! Wow, driving yourself to another class, that's great. You are doing so well, I'm so impressed and happy for you. Congratulations. Here's a big pat on the back.
