Hi mammakin,

Reflecting back on Friday, what do you make of it? How would you explain this to yourself? What did you do Friday to keep your anxiety levels down?

Regarding nutrition, why have you eaten so little in the past few days? Definitely try to eat some healthy snacks today, whether it be a fruit or a handful of nuts to get started. It will help you concentrate and hopefully have more energy to challenge your negative thoughts. Davit has mentioned a few great ideas, wearing head phones or listening to music may be a great idea for blocking out excess information.

Hi Mammakin:  Just came in for a break from gardening and to rehydrate.  It's hot today!  anyway, to answer your question, I think I took it for about 4 and a half years and that was maybe 5 years ago.  I do remember some sweats too and the shakes, trembly feeling, but that passed.  And my dreams were more vivid, not scary or anything like that, just colourful and detailed.  Or perhaps it's that we remember them more.

Can you wear head phones and listen to music to block out information over load or can you find something to focus on so that you can block out some of the excess around you. A good part of anxiety is when we start to think about too many things at once and the system gets overloaded. Ativan works by blocking all this excess information but you can do it on your own by focusing on some thing as a distraction to block this. Box breathing not only increases your oxygen level so you think better but concentrating on it is a distraction that lessens the information overload around you. Keep in mind that some of this information is subconscious and you may not notice it but distracting will block it also.

Hope this helps
Davit.

Friday I made it through the day without too much anxiety. Today is seems like I am overwhelmed with it. I know I am overtired and I am trying to make it through the day. I also have not really eaten since Wednesday night. I have the Challenge negative thought with 10 questions sitting next to me and I did force myself not to leave about an hour ago when I really wanted to get out of here. Now I am a bit shaky, sweating but I am still sitting here working.

Hi mammakin,

I am glad to hear that you slept well last night. I highly recommend working through the sessions and completing the homework. The panic program will help you understand the underlying reasons of panic. Research has also found that the more program homework you do, the better you will feel. There are also specific sessions that may be of particular interest to you, feel free to move forward to the appropriate sections. Continue to strive forward and post often.

What happened on Friday to make it a positive day at work?

Oh no I just chose not to take it... I don't really like taking anything. ( I am still a bit freaked out by taking the Celexa but I feel better knowing I will be able to get off of it)The last time I took Ativan was to get on an airplane. We went to TN to meet friends that is recording a country CD and I was having a hard time with it. It was great once it kicked in but I was exhausted when it wore off. I can't miss work tomorrow because I have Tuesday off for my son's promotion day into the high school. I am actually doing quite well tonight, Dave left for work. He left about an hour and a half ago and got lost. I am staying awake until he calls to let me know he got there OK.

Sorry I did not mean you should not take Ativan if it was prescribed, I meant it is the worst of the Benzodazapenes, and it would be better to take one with a longer half life such as Xanax or Valium or similar. Ativan has bad side effects over time.

Hi Davit,

I did not take the Ativan today. I almost came close. I was so sick of the shakes and sadness it was driving me insane. I ended up doing mushmind stuff that took my mind off of him going to work and by the time he left I was calm enough to not freak out. I am debating on if I should call him to make sure he got in at 11. He is almost an hour away now, we will pass each other on the highway in the morning. I am sitting with my daughter now. I am watching Troop Mom and she is reading. Comfort for now until bedtime. Hopefully by morning I will be good.
