Hello TaraElizabeth, welcome to the forum!
I have only tried Lexapro for my anxiety attacks. I've read that you're body becomes used to /rely on the medications so when you get off of them, you will need some time to adjust to live without them. I was on Lexapro for about a year and a half and even though I tappered off, I had horrible withdrawal symptoms. It's going to be a year since I got off of it and boy, was it a year.  My body is still adjusting to it's 'norm' and I did relapse a bit with the anxiety myself. But now that I'm not relying on medications, I must find ways to practice getting used to 'life' without it. I have become agoraphobic again just like you, but with A LOT of patience and practice I am learning to get out again little by little. The medications were quick to give you the support you need to be 'normal' and do all the daily tasks without practice but without meds, it like manually programming yourself and that takes a whole lot longer.
I have heard there are a few meds that are 'ok' to use while pregnant, have you consulted your doctor about it?

Hello TaraElizabeth,

Welcome to our wonderful support community and thank you for sharing your story.

Many members on this forum share the same concerns as yourself. You have reached a great place for support and encouragement. Please do take the time to review the program and tools available to you where you will find supportive tests that you can take to help you better understand your fears and anxiety. These tests can then be presented to your doctor for further evaluation.

As well the program will walk you through sessions that will enable you to work on your concerns in a systematic way.

Please post as often as you need to and let us know how you are doing.

I also wanted to write some of the medications I have been on over the years.  I have a list of about 13, those are the only ones I can remember since i was put on them at such a young age.

Paxil
Lexapro
Celexa
Topomax
Lithium
Zoloft
Neurontin
Klonopin
Effexor xr
Cymbalta
Prozac
Xanax (only taken while flying)
Ativan (only taken while flying)

Has anyone been on nearly this many medications?  If so, how do you feel about it?

Hello everyone!  I'm a 21 year old young woman who has suffered with panic attacks, seperation anxiety, depression & agoraphobia ever since the age of 4 or 5. (since I can remember anyway.)  I have been on all sorts of medications, which have helped, but recently was tappered off of my 400 MG's of Effexor XR.  I am a mess, and feel like I did when I was a young girl.  I am scared to do everything!  I can't go to the store, wait in a line, hardly drive, drive with my fiance, you name it, it gives me a panic attack.  The agoraphobia has gotten bad.  The reason I got off the meds is because I would like to have children in the next few years, and I know I can not be on these meds while pregnant.  I figured now was a good time to get off considering I wasn't feeling depressed or hardly anxious, wasnt in school and wasnt working.  I went through a terrible withdrawel period, and when that was over, I am back to my old agoraphobic self.  I have tried therapy, hypnotherapy, vitamin b complex, yoga... everything.  I currently take 2 mg Klonopin daily as well as .5 mg Zoloft.

Basically I just would like some support :)  Thank you.
