Hiya Zoe,

I am the same about visitors in my house unless I know the people well. I haven't figured it out yet for myself but as soon as I do I will let you know! But I did want to stop in and let you know you are not alone in this.

zoe27,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

You mentioned that you feel anxious inside and outside your home. When your partner has friends over, do you still experience the same anxiety inside and outside? Perhaps you could take a walk outside to ease your anxieties? Would you find something like this helpful?

Would it be possible to distract yourself when you are in the home? Any activities or chores you have been wanting to complete but just have not had the time? Perhaps using this time to distract yourself and challenge those thoughts would be helpful?

Members, please share your experience with zoe on how you feel when other people enter your home. What tips do you find helpful? What has worked for you in the past?

Recently im getting very anxious when people are due round my house unless they are very close to me. Its mainly when my partner has his friends round which he is due to have in about 20 mins, im as usual now sat upstairs feeling very anxious, locked away in my bedroom, hating it cos its night time and i want to relax, it does only usually happen at night time, but iv been out a few times so i dont get why im feeling worse in my house. ive always been anxious inside as well as outside (since having agoraphobia) but its just getting worse, im fighting anxiety 24/7 .does anyone else feel the same about visitors and what did you do to help it? thanks
zoe
