situational anxiety

Hiya Jen,

Well I don't know for the others but I have had situational anxiety for sure. I used to freak out about the bus for example. What helped me most was exposure techniques and thought challenging. Nowadays I take the bus on my own all the time! Hang in there, it can get better!

I only have panic attack in clausterphobic situations like on  a plane, a crowded bus, dentist chair. They sometimes only last a few seconds or minutes. I completely avoid elevators, claim I do it for the fitness.

I try to limit my caffeine intake on days I fly. I have done well with controlled breathing and distractions like a book. I don't take any meds but have taken gravol which will make me sleepy. I can survive most of the flight but when the plane lands and everyone get out of their seats prior to the door opening , I am a wreck. I try to sit near the front to be off first but the days prior to my travel day and not having a pre assinged seat worries me terribly.

Any one else with similar situational panic attacks?
