summer storms are here

Yes CD, i'm impressed.  We had some bad weather a couple of nights ago, the day after I slept thru it all, and I was good, I didnt stay up all night.  I watched the weather, then I went up to bed around midnight, fell asleep, it stormed for most of the night, but I said to myself, that me staying awake, and worrying is only going to make me feel worse the next day, its not going to stop the weather,
I dozed off in the guestroom and about 3:00 am, i just got up and went to my own bed, in the morning the sun was shining, and tho they predicted rain, it didnt happen. So I made cookies:)

Hi everyone,  I was over at my neighbour today, and I wanted to share this with you all.
He said to me " boy you must of been awake all night with the big storms last night"
I looked at him and said " it stormed last night"? hehe..it was funny as I had slept thru the whole thing and I still survived to tell the tail. Tonight was stormy but I havent freaked out too much, just a little hehe..but the warnings are all over so i'm going to do crosswords for a bit then off to bed..i'm so tired..

Besides that another funny story to make you all laugh..I needed to use a fax machine, so i called my neighbour and said " hi brian, do you have a fax machine" (now i have a bit of an accent from south africa, so sometimes my accent can make words sound different, i'm sure you know what I mean CD. Well there is dead silence and he says in shock!!!*A SEX MACHINE"..omg..that was soo funny..I thought i was hearing things so i said about 3 times.." no a fax machine" and "he kept saying a "sex machine"..anyway, he finally got it..but boy..talk about embarrasing..hehe!!!!hope you all enjoyed that:)

Hi Everyone

I too don't drink very much anymore but I sure do envy my friends who kick back with a glass of wine and say it relaxes them.  If and when I do drink I usually get sick.. blah!!  and who wants that.  Plus alchohol is a depressant and I can feel "off" for a few days after tipping the glass.... So for me that price is too high....

I do drink a lot of Shirley Temples (with our daughter).. lol.. in a wine glass though and then I at least feel as though I'm indulging a bit...and noone is the wiser nor bugs me to have a glass... ;)

As for "advice" that doesn't help... I always take it with a grain of salt.. Unfortunately some people just don't "get it" nor ever will... Even when they mean well.. They oversimplify and it can be somewhat offensive to us...   I have learned (most of the time) to give people the benefit of the doubt of meaning well and that if they really understood they would be "kinder" or more compassionate...

We can't pick our families BUT we can pick our friends... and that's why we're on here... !!  We get you Minn.. and you're doing just great!!

Supposed to rain all day, I feel a lot of relief of anxiety when I come here and it looks bad outside,
I could sit here and type and I feel the relief off my shoulders.   I got up early today,  I couldnt sleep, but it looks like it may of poured last night and  I didnt hear a thing, which was good:)
i'm still going next door soon, for a couple of hours, but i think i'll be ok.
