Name 3 values your Mom taught you.

Despite the massive fall-outs my mother and I have had over the years, I have learned a vast amount from her - sometimes her mistakes.

She taught me to be strong.  She raised 3 children with an alcoholic husband drinking the money she earned away.

She taught me to be independent and strong willed.  She's a stubborn, stubborn woman!

But most of all, she taught me forgiveness and making the most of what I have.  I left home at 15 and never spoke to her for years.  We both reflected on our wrongs and now have a wonderful relationship - despite the fact she now lives in another country.

Wow what a great thread! I think that is a great thing to reflect upon. Thank you for starting this thread.

I find choosing three things difficult, my mom taught me so much. But here goes. My mom taught me unconditionnal love. I know what it is like to be loved no matter what. That is a lesson I take with me everywhere, that someone loves me no matter what and that unconditionnal love exists.

She also taught me compassion for myself and others. I am so hard on myself, always has been but throughout my life my mom has been the one to teach me to be kind to myself. Sure I need refreshers courses often but I figure it will take eventually. She also taught me to have compassion for tohers.

Ok third, she taught me that courage is not the absence of fear, it is to be afraid and still keep going forward.

I love my mom. She has been with me through all my harships. I am very grateful she is in my life.

I got a cll from my sister Carol asking me to name 3 values my mother taught me. Since I come from a broken family, Mom left when I was 13 or 14
and Dad wasn't very active in bring us up. We were on our own pretty much, this was hard to do. Then I realized Mom was working with what she knew at the time
and didn't mean any harm. She just didn't know better. As for the 3 values,   FORGIVENESS, She taught me to forgive. LOVE she taught me to love,I think because I never felt like my parents
loved me.  Perservarence, Never give up.
