Medication question?

Hi Amanda I too am on Celexa 20mg. At first I was feeling the same way you did and I went back to my doctor and she told me the meds take a while to get into my system(just like Josie said) so it wasn't the meds at all but my anxiety about taking the meds. When I went back some weeks later, she upped my dose because my anxiety was still quite high even though I was really working on it. She knows my fear of meds so she has me taking 20mg one night then 25mg the next and so on. My anxiety levels have lowered and it's really making me able to focus on my journaling, deep breathing, muscle relaxation etc. Still have alot of panic upon awakening but I'm working on it. Give the meds some time to get into your system then if you're still having problems, go back and talk to your doctor. Hope this helps

Amanda, Change in medication or beginning a new medication regime can take some time to produce the full effect of what the medication is intended for. It is always a good idea to continue to work with your doctor and pharmacist regarding medication side effects and dosages :) Josie, Health Educator

I don't know if this is in the right forum... I started taking Celexa, fairly low-dose - 10 mg a day. I took my first dose last night before bed (and since I was anxious about it, it sent me into a panic attack. Awesome.) All day today I've felt... subdued. Did anyone else experience this when they first started their prescriptions? I expected it to take longer to have any effect. All day I've felt the same symptoms that would normally send me into an attack but I almost feel like it's too much effort to worry about it? For lack of a better description. I've literally spent the entire day in bed being a big lazy slob. And somehow I don't know whether or not it's a good reaction. I've gone all day without any attacks, so that's something, right?
