Well, I did it! After doing some lower stress exposure work, I finally had a face to face meeting with my boss. Something I was almost terrified of. I was really anxious prior to the meeting. But I did my breathing/relaxation exercises. I also noticed that prior to the meeting I started visualizing all the bad things that could happen and worked myself up more and more-does anyone else do this? This is the first time I've been conscious of it, but I'm sure I've done it a lot in the past. So I did an anxious thoughts worksheet to reason with myself and THEN, I did some deep breathing while visualizing a positive experience with my boss. It really calmed me down prior to going. I also reminded myself that even if I did get upset, that didn't mean I had failed-staying in the situation meant I succeeded, no matter how anxious I got. It ended up being a very good meeting and I relaxed very quickly. I'm very happy!
