Vickers4, That's good news! Kudos to you on taking time out for yourself. Prolonged periods of stress will undoubtedly affect your anxiety level. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Thank you everyone for your support! I went to the doctors and made it through. I feel so stupid that I got all worked about it now that it's over. :confuse: I think it's the fear of the unknown. And the thought of doing it alone was practically too much to handle. But, I did it. He said that it has changed shape but that it's a good shape, which indicates it is not cancerous. I guess when you have a cancerous tumor, it has a certain shape that causes concern. This one does not. So, it is good news. ....Phew..... I was so proud of myself for going in and doing it (I almost canceled and rescheduled) and I have been so stressed out lately that I decided to take some time for myself. So, I bought some lunch and went for a drive up by the lake. Nature always brings me back to life. I did a little shopping at a second hand store - they always have these really hard to find dishes for seriously cheap - like depression era type dishes (a little obsession of mine). It was sooo nice and relaxing. So, the rest of the day was really wonderful and I felt really good. I realized that I let myself get too caught up in the daily stresses and don't take time out for myself as much as I need to. I think that's why my anxiety has been so high lately. Anyways.... as I babble on..... just wanted to let you know that it turned very well and that I truly appreciate your support!! Thanks again!!! ;)

Hi Vickers, I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. It can be frightening when we have to get check ups like this. I live on the west coast so I am assuming that you may already be on your way to the appointment but I will pray for you. I think taking your meds is a good idea. It will just take the edge off. I hope everything goes well for you today!!

Dear vickers4, We are sending warm thoughts and virtual hugs your way this morning! Good for you for seeking medical assistance. Getting the right information is important. You might find it helpful to bring a list of any questions you have along with you. Plus you will be able to write down any information the Doctor has for you. Check back in when you can, we are thinking of you! Casey ________________________ The PC Support Team

I have to go see a specialist today for a breast lump I found a few months ago. They did a mammogram and an ultrasound and said it looks ok but he wanted me to come back in a couple months (today) to see if it's changed shape or grown at all. When he was talking about it, he was saying, oh, yeah, this is ok, I don't think there's a problem. Then, when he felt it, he got this look on his face and said he wanted to see me again in a couple months. I keep trying to tell myself that he was positive and said everything was ok and this is just a checkup to make sure, but then I keep seeing that look on his face and keep thinking, what if he just didn't know for sure..... My grandmother had breast cancer a couple years ago and had a breast removed and I am so afraid to go through what she went through. What I am mostly freaking out about right now is that I have to go do this alone because my husband couldn't get time off work. I can't seem to stop crying this morning. I am so dizzy, I feel like I'm floating. I keep trying to be positive, but I am crawling out of my skin. I think I'm going to take a Xanax before I go. Maybe that will help. I keep telling myself I'm going to get through this ok. I'm just not sure I believe it anymore. Maybe I will feel better when it's done and over with.
