The dreaded Doctor!

Hiya Aud :) I am really glad you had a good appointment with your doctor :) She does sound really nice :) It sounds to me like all the right things are happening for you to get back to where you want to be and I am super happy for you :) Anyway, hang in there, it does get better! -Diva

Aud, Sounds like you had a good appointment. Keep us posted on how you're doing and don't hesistate to ask for help with the program and exercises if you need it. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Well of course I made it out to be much worse than it was! Why do I always do this? She was very nice. Seems to think I need a little therapy with my fear of losing control. I will see if there is any help with this from the employee assistance program at work because she said it would probably be free, if not she gave me a list that I can compare to my list of network doctors and hopefully find a match. She prescribed alprazolam and I can take it only when I know I will be encountering my panic situations and in the meantime I can learn tools and coping skills from the therapy so hopefully one day I won't need the medication. She made me feel so much better by informing me she thought it should be no problem fixing me up! And thank you all for listening to me and supporting me up to this point. It really was hard getting here! Have a great weekend!

Hi again Aud, That is fantastic preparation! Regarding accessing the site features, please first log in with your email and password. This will take you to a page to complete the rgistration process. Once you have done this you will have access to your "Session Diary" Here is where you are able to access of the site features and where all of your information is stored. Please let us know if you need any further assistance, Casey __________________________ The PC Support Team

Casey, I wrote down the conditions of my fears (ie: they do not come out of nowhere), the fears themselves, old and new, and what I experience. I wrote why I decided to look into getting help (attacks while driving) and my concerns of things getting worse. It was an exercise to help prepare myself for this appointment but since it was on paper anyway I faxed it along with the test to the Doctor in case she wanted to look at it beforehand. Not that I need to, but I can't figure out how I would reprint it, and I can't find the 12 step program and tools and such. I know this is a crucial step but it is one of my phobias I think (social)

Hi Aud, It is very common to feel this way. You can get through this! This is a very important step in your progress. Being prepared will help. Are you able to print out any of the information from the site to help you, for example, the results of the online anxiety test? This can be a great "ice-breaker" if you are hesitant to bring up your concernsand symptoms. Are you going alone or do you have someone that can support you through this? Let us know how everything goes, Casey ___________________________ The PC Support Team
