Hi kittcat, Yes, practice is key! Good for you for using your coping mechanisms and getting through the appointment! Remember, take it slow and work at your own pace. You are doing great! Casey ___________________________ The PC Support Team

Hiya Kitt I am sure your councelor can help you with this and This program will help :) This program has helped me a ton! I can see how it is unnerving to go see new people. I must admit I don't like it much either, but I find I am getting better at it :) Hang in there :) -Diva

Well, I was waiting to see a Doctor in the Doctor's office when a panic attack reared its ugly head. I was feeling anxious even before I went to the appointment because my Doctor is on vacation and she asked me to see this Doctor that I don't know. I think this is a pattern for me, because the same thing happened to me last week when I had another appointment with someone I'd never met before. It was strange. I just kept worrying they were going to be mean or criticize me or something. I kept doing deep breathing and telling myself I was ok, but everytime I felt calmed down and stopped doing this, the panicky thoughts and feelings came back. Once I met him it was fine, because he was super nice, so I did get through it. My counsellor says that it takes practice and I'm also hoping that maybe stuff I learn further on in this course will help.
