Angie,
Do be sure to let your doctor know about these palpitations if you haven't already. He can help you rule out whether or not they are a cause for concern.

Hi Angie,
I get these quite abit too. Sometimes I get a definite thump thump in quick succession. Mostly though I get a milder double or triple beat. Since I have cut back big time on my coffee intake and chocolate (boo hoo!)they have really decreased. Another thing I do is when I get them I hold my breath for 5 seconds and It seems to help. I may have to do that 2-3 times. It can and will get better.
I have noticed I get more heart palpitations when my stress levels are particularly high or when I am tired. Also, any kind of physical excitment or surprise tends to increase my chances of heart palpitations. But everything points towards the fact that my heart is very healthy and that this is just anxiety and stress related so I have learned to live with it when it does happen. So that is my take on heart palpitations.

What do your palpitations feel like?
Mine feel like a heavy THUMP in my heart, as if it was sinking, and sometimes I feel it inside my throat too, like if my heart was trying to come out. Anyone else get these?
