Prednisone

Vickers4, Good on you for having discussed this matter with your MD. Prednisone is a strong steroid and generally produces a lot of unpleasant side effects. That being said, it is pretty effective! We encourage you to keep your doctor informed of the side effects you are experiencing and perhaps go home for the day if you can. If you can't relaxation techniques again may be of help in relieving any anxiety. It may also help you get your focus back. If you still find it difficult to concentrate, breaking down the tasks you have at work into smaller ones may make your day a little more manageable. Feel better soon. Has anyone ever taken Prednisone? I broke out with an allergic reaction to antibiotics and have been put on this Prednisone, which is a steroid and is helping, but it is making me feel so incredibly funky!! I feel like I've been sucking on a lightning bolt or something. I've talked to my doctor about it, and she says all the side effects I am having are normal with this type of med, but holy cow!! It's like I'm crawling out of my skin or something. She gave me Xanax to help counteract it and today told me to start cutting the dose in half tomorrow. She said it's doing it's job and that if the side effects are this bad then she might want me to get off it a little earlier than planned. But, now I have to be weaned off it. I started it yesterday. I feel so heavy and dizzy and drunk. I also am having some blurred vision and extreme anxiety. It almost feels like being on an all night binger or something. I took the Xanax this morning so it's kind of taken the edge off, but not completely. I'm at work and I can't even get myself to concentrate. I feel like I'm in a tunnel. Anyone else had to deal with this? Any words of advice on how to cope?
